Election challenge revived
Navajo Supreme Court to review dismissal
by appeals court

WINDOW ROCK — Navajo Election Administration Director Edison Wauneka reported to the Board of Election Supervisors that a hearing on the Dec. 15 special election has been scheduled for March 12 by the Navajo Nation Supreme Court.

The order for an expedited briefing schedule was issued Jan. 29.

According to the order, election cases are given priority over ordinary civil cases.

The court will consider an appeal of a decision from the Office of Hearings and Appeals that dismissed a grievance by Timothy Nelson challenging the special election results...
