Joe Chee

KIRTLAND — Services for Joe G. Chee, 67, will be 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 27, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, Farmington. The Rev. Hunt Pcacock will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Feb. 26, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home.

Chee died Sunday, Feb. 22, in Kirtland. He was born Oct. 15, 1941, in Houck, into the Water Edge People Clan for the Red Streak into the Water People Clan.

Chee met his wife while attending college in Chicago, Ill., in 1963. He loved the outdoors and his home in Hunter’s Point. He treasured his brothers and sister and made many memories that he shared with his grandchildren every day.

Chee specialized and mastered auto body repair, auto painting and auto mechanics. Due to his long illness, he was forced to retire. His work brought him from Chicago to the Four Corners area.

Survivors include his wife; children, Lorinda, Anthony; sisters, Sheila Lincoln, Jean Wilson, Anna Clyde, Emma Francis, Grace Thompson, Mary Tsosie; brothers, Joe Clyde Sr., Phillip Clyde, Dean Clyde, Dan Yazzie, Joe Chischilly, of Coal Mine, Joe Chischilly of Navajo; six grandchildren.

Chee was preceded in death by his son, Joseph.

Anita Clark

GALLUP — Services are pending for Anita A. Clark, 78.

Clark died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, in Gallup. She was born Oct. 4, 1930.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Carl Rytkonen

RAMAH — Funeral services for Carl Harold Rytkonen, 87, will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 26, at Ramah Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ramah. Bishop Jerry Tietjen will officiate. Viewing will be 10 a.m., Feb. 26, at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, Ramah.

Rytkonen died Feb. 23, 2009, in Ramah. He was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Hannah, Wyoming.

Rytkonen was a World War II veteran and a career Navy man, retiring in 1962. Following his retirement from the Navy, he went into business. First, he owned a United Rent-All business in Portlan, Maine and later a Dry Cleaners/Laundromat in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Another move took him to Albuquerque where he served as a buyer for All Woods Lumber Company until he retired in 1987. Rytkonen and his wife moved to Ramah, when he retired. He was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. He always enjoyed his assignments there. Rytkonen was an avid photographer and supplied the family pictures for many years. He loved his family and his country.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta of Ramah; daughters, Carlene Evans of Ramah, Pamela Hauserman of Gilbert; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.

Jerrold Todacheenie

GANADO — Services for Jerrold Lee Todacheene, 32, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 26, at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Churcht, St. Michaels. President Pete Yazzie will officiate. Burial will be in family plot, Steamboat.

Todacheenie died Feb. 21, 2009, in Ganado. He was born April 21, 1976, in Ganado, into the Edge Water People Clan for the Mexican People Clan.

Todacheenie graduated from Ganado High School in 1997. He was formerly employed with Navajo Nation Department of Water Resources and Toyei Industries. He applied Communications Technology and Luna Telecommunications. Todacheenie was a full time musician. He loved playing guitar, and was an artist. He was currently playing with the band Badlands.

Survivors include his wife, Vida W. Todacheenie of Ganado; sons, Zachary E. Todacheenie, Ryan Hardy, Justin Hardy, all of Ganado; daughters, Summerrain Rebe Curley, Cheynne Curley, both of Ganado; parents, Albert Lee Begay of Tse Bonito, Susie Todacheenie of Steamboat; brothers, Darrell Todacheenie, Shawn Mitchell, both of Steamboat; grandmother, Dorothy Begay of Steamboat.

Todacheenie was preceded in death by his grandmother, Zonnie E. Todacheeni; grandfather, Clarence Begay Sr.

Pallbearers will be Jay Vern Kee, Ryan Friday, Shawn Manuelito, Pat Tsosie, Allen Hill Jr., Dave Charley.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Susie Todacheenie’s residence, 8 miles west of Burnside, Steamboat, Ariz., following services.

Dennis Yazzie

NAHODISHGISH — Funeral services for Dennis Dan Yazzie, 31, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 26, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Jim Purnro will officiate. Burial will be in Nahodishgish.

Yazzie died Feb. 21, 2009, in Nahodishgish. He was born Dec. 03, 1977, in Crownpoint, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Yazzie attended Standing Rock Community School, Crownpoint Boarding School and Crownpoint High School.

Survivors include his brothers, Darryl Yazzie, Danny Yazzie, both of Nahodishgish; sisters, Bernice Begay of Many Farms, Darlene Yazzie, Mavis Yazzie, Gloria Largo, Diane Yazzie, Deanna Yazzie, Dora Yazzie, all of Nahodishgish.

Yazzie was preceded in death by his father, Dan S. Yazzie; mother, Evelyn Yazzie; brothers, Daniel Yazzie, Dan Yazzie Jr.; grandparents, Kee H. Johnson, Nellie Johnson, Jim and Molly Yazzie.

Pallbearers will be Harvey Yazzie, Jarvis Chapo, Jerry Thompson, Freddie Chiquito, Larry Halona, Lionel Halona.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Nahodishgish Chapter House, following services.
