What's news Copyright © 2009 Code Talker exhibit expanded REHOBOTH The public is invited to attend a presentation and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the expansion of the Navajo Code Talkers Exhibit at Rehoboth Christian School. The event will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Navajo Code Talkers Communication Center, located inside the Rehoboth Middle School. Ev Nienhouse will make an introductory presentation about the Navajo Code Talkers, followed by a screening of the Navajo Code Talkers Project DVD. Local Code Talkers and contributors to the exhibit and DVD project will be acknowledged and honored. In addition, school officials will provide information about the expansion of the schools exhibit honoring the World War II heroes. All Navajo Code Talkers, their family members, and the public are invited to attend. The Grants Senior Center Advisory Council will meet at the center, 550 Jurassic Court, Grants, at 1 p.m. on Thursday. The regular monthly meeting of the animal board will meet Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the Grants City Hall. The board advises the city on issues related to animal control and welfare, including the soon-to-be opened animal shelter on Sakelares Boulevard, Grants. Information: City Hall, 287- 7927. Senior Center, 285-3922. Artist lecture, reception set Staff writer Mjurka will present an artist lecture at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Ingham Chapman Gallery, located inside Gurley Hall. A reception will follow the lecture. Mjurka, who now resides in California, has been the featured artist at the college. Mjurka grew up in Latvia during the Soviet era. In recent years, she has focused on the exploration of human nature and conditioning through the prism of Maslows pyramid of psychological needs, categorized in two distinguished groups such as basic and being needs.
