McKinley County Deputy Sheriff Merlin
Benally escorts a woman calling herself Mo Begay into the back of
his police vehicle Friday on Crestview Road. Benally said Begay
was one of two passengers of a Pontiac Firebird that became airborne
and rolled over after losing control at about 110 mph. on Crestview
Road. Begay and the driver fled the scene into the hills south of
Mentmore where police pursued them for more than a mile. ©

for parents/caregivers with children ages 3-5 years old. Recruiting
in Prewitt, Haystack, Thoreau, and surrounding areas. FACE is
a successful program that helps parents address their own educational
needs and to prepare their children for school.
