Deaths

John Boice

MURRAY, Utah — Funeral services for Dr. John K. Boice, 62, will be 11 a.m., Feb. 21, at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, College Blvd. Burial will immediately follow. Viewing will be 5-7 p.m., Feb. 20, at Brewer Lee and Larkin Funeral Home.

Boice died Feb. 17, 2009, in Murray, Utah. He was born Aug. 3, 1946, in Farmington.

Boice practiced orthodontics in the Farmington area for 34 years and is responsible for thousands of smiles. He was a professor at San Juan College for the Dental Hygiene Program.

Stella Chee

CHAMBERS, Ariz. — Funeral services for Stella Marie Chee, 86, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 19, at Indian Holiness Church. The Rev. Carl Noggles will officiate. Burial will be in family plot, 5 miles North of Chambers, Ariz.

Chee died Feb. 14, 2009, in Winslow. She was born July 1, 1923, in Chambers, into the One Walks Around People Clan for the Water’s Edge People Clan.

Chee was a cook at Bellmount Military Base in Flagstaff, a waitress, housekeeper caregiver and homemaker. Her hobbies included rug weaving, horse riding, sheep herding, gospel singing, country dancing and arts and crafts.

Survivors include her sons, Roland Ralph Chee Sr of Toyea, Ariz., Clarence Casey Chee Sr. of Chambers; daughter, Lorraine Jayne Chee of Chambers; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren.

Chee was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Joseph Chee; sons, Ralph Chee, Gilbert Chee Sr., Steven Begay; daughter, Maranda Begay; father, Navajo Joe; mother, Ason Yazzie Redhouse.

Pallbearers will be Clarence Chee Jr., Burt Chee, Terrell Anderson, Fernando Chee, Clarence Chee Sr., Roland Chee Sr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Indian Holiness Church, following services.
