FORT DEFIANCE Services for Kee Chischilly, 75, will be
10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 13, at Window Rock Church of God, Window
Rock. The Rev. Jerry Tom will officiate. Burial will be in Community
Cemetery, Fort Defiance.
Chischilly died Feb. 7, 2009, in Gallup. He was born Jan. 2,
1934, in Oakridge, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Honey
Combed Rock People Clan.
Chischilly was home schooled in his childhood years. He retired
in 2000 from Adolph Coors Company in Golden, Colo., after working
25 years as a processing operator. His greatest accomplishment
was quitting drinking at age 41. He was a rancher, laborer, and
a mechanics helper. Chischilly was a caregiver to extended
families. He was a caring and giving man and always helped others.
He was the type of person who kept himself busy doing yard work,
cleaning, cooking, assisting with traditional ceremonies and never
type sat around doing nothing.
Survivors include his sister, Terese Chischilly.
Chischilly was preceded in death by his mother, Yelth Has Bah
Roanhorse; father, Etsitty Yazzie Begay; brothers, Charlie, Thomas
Chischilly; sister, Daisy Chischilly.
Pallbearers will be Roberta Buck, G. Wachata Gruber, Patrick
Mann, Larry Mann, Gabriel Mullins, Jamas Todacheeny.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Window Rock
Church of God Fellowship Hall, following services.
