The DWI drivers must complete DWI school within 30 days and cannot enter any business that serves alcohol. They are all required to perform a minimum of 24 hours of community service. They are also required to install ignition interlocks on any vehicle they plan to drive. Norman Benta, 47, of a post office box in Springerville, Ariz., pleaded guilty to DWI, pleaded down from aggravated DWI (.16 or more). Sentenced to Cibola County Detention Center for 90 days with 90 days suspended and credit for no time served. Court ordered supervised probation for 180 days; complete alcohol screening; register for DWI school; install ignition interlock device on any vehicle to be operated; no bars, no drugs or driving without a license; provide court with documentation of all conditions; and complete 24 hours of community service. Total fines and fees $715 with $500 suspended and no credit for time served. Shane Platero, 26, of a post office box in Thoreau, pleaded guilty to DWI and having no license was deferred. Sentenced to Cibola County Detention Center for 90 days with 90 days suspended and credit for no ttime served. Court ordered supervised probation for 180 days; complete alcohol screening; register for DWI school; install ignition interlock device on any vehicle to be operated; no bars, no drugs or driving without a license; provide court with documentation of all conditions; and complete 24 hours of community service. Total fines and fees $820 with $550 suspended and $100 credit for time served. William Reaver, 48, of 712 Sagewood Court, NE, pleaded guilty to careless driving. Sentenced to Cibola County Detention Center for 90 days with 90 days suspended and credit for no time served. Total fines and fees $125 with $0 suspended. Freddy Saavedra, 24, of 29 McBride Road, Grants, pleaded guilty to DWI. Sentenced to Cibola County Detention Center for 90 days with 90 days suspended and credit for no time served. Court ordered supervised probation for 180 days; complete alcohol screening; register for DWI school; install ignition interlock device on any vehicle to be operated; no bars, no drugs or driving without a license; provide court with documentation of all conditions; and complete 24 hours of community service.
