Committee OKs road improvements

Committee of the Navajo Nation Council on Monday unanimously approved granting a temporary construction easement to San Juan County, Utah, Department of Transportation to conduct road and bridge improvements on Navajo Nation trust lands at the Montezuma Creek bridge in the vicinity adjacent to San Juan County Road 450 in Utah.

The committee also approved the granting of a right of way to Navajo Tribal Utility Authority to convert an existing overhead single-phase power line to a three-phase power line for Indian Health Service in the vicinity of Coppermine Chapter; granted a right of way to NTUA to upgrade three-phase line conductors within the vicinity of Oljato Chapter; and granted a right of way to the Bureau of Indian Affairs’ Division of Transportation for construction, operation and maintenance of a road and bridge project within White Rock Chapter.
