Deaths
Robert Lee
CRYSTAL Graveside services for Robert J. Lee, 69, will
be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the private family plot, Crystal.
Lee died Feb. 5, 2009, in Gallup. He was born April 12, 1936,
in Fort Defiance, into the Black Sheep People Clan for the Big
Water People Clan.
Lee had five years of education. He worked as a farmer laborer
and cabinet maker.
Survivors include his brothers, David Lee of Crystal, George
J. Lee of Rigby, Idaho, Anslem Lee of Lander, Wyo., Frank Lee
of Gallup.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Lee, Elizabeth Lee;
brothers, Thomas Lee, Tony Lee; sister, Alice Lee.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
John McKenzie
SHEEP SPRINGS Funeral services for John Joe McKenzie,
91, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the Sheep Springs Pentecostal
Church, Sheep Springs. The Rev. Henderson will officiate. Burial
will be in Community Cemetery, Sheep Springs.
McKenzie died Feb. 6, 2009, in Gallup. He was born May 15, 1917,
in Sheep Springs, into the Folded Arms People Clan for the Red
House People Clan.
McKenzie attended school in Shiprock and Rehoboth. He worked
for the railroad and was a rancher after he retired.
Survivors include his sisters, Virginia Yazzie, Nellie Liston.
McKenzie was preceded in death by his parents; Roy, Phillip,
Hadezbab, Maxine, Mary.
Pallbearers will be Harley Henderson, Allen Peshlakai Jr., Michael
Nakai, Curtis Nakai, Ryan Nakai, Nathaniel Bryant.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Sheep Springs
Chapter House, following services.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Leo Nelson
GRANTS Services for Leo Nelson, 52, were 10 a.m., today,
Feb. 9, at Compassion Mortuary. Burial will be in Grants Memorial
Park.
Nelson died Feb. 1, 2009, in Grants. He was born Sept. 14, 1956,
in Crownpoint, into the Mescalero Apache People Clan for the Red
Running Into the Water People Clan.
Survivors include his children, Aaron Nelson of Fort Defiance,
Eric Nelson of Fort Defiance, Betina Nelson of Fort Defiance,
Leander Nelson of Grants; sister, Betty Becenti of Grants; brother,
Roy Nelson of Grants; four grandchildren.
Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Nelson, Evangeline
Largo Nelson; brothers, Raymond Nelson, Arviso Nelson.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Nelson, Herbert Nelson Jr., Durwin
Nelson, Ricky K. Nelson, Shawn K. Nelson, Eric Nelson.

NASCHITTI Funeral services are pending for Esther B. Tsosie,
71.
Tsosie died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, in Farmington. She was born
July 15, 1937, in Naschitti.
