WINDOW ROCK — Two of the Navajo Nation Council’s standing committees are sending members to the presidential inauguration today. The Government Services Committee and the Public Safety Committee are scheduled to attend the inauguration in Washington today, according to the standing committee meetings schedule released by the legislative branch.

The Public Safety Committee is also holding a special meeting Friday at the Budget and Finance conference room.

The Budget and Finance Committee has its regular meeting Tuesday at the Fire Rock Casino.

The Transportation and Community Development Committee has a regular meeting on Tuesday at the Council Chamber’s north conference room and a certification at the Naschitti chapter on Thursday.

The Economic Development Committee is holding a special meeting Wednesday at Whipporwill.

The Education Committee is on travel Tuesday through Saturday attending a school board conference in Laughlin, Nev.

The Health and Social Services Committee has a subcommittee meeting on Friday at a location to be announced.

The Human Services Committee has a special meeting on Thursday at the Budget and Finance conference room.

The Resources Committee is on travel to Laughlin Monday to Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, the committee will be in Las Vegas for the Indian Agricultural Association Conference.

Standing committee meetings are usually set for 10 a.m.
Other legislative branch programs holding meetings this week are the Navajo-Hopi Land Commission subcommittee in Flagstaff on Friday and the Navajo Board of Election Supervisors Thursday at its office complex in Window Rock at 9 a.m.
