Deaths
Kandra Hale
QUERINO CANYON Funeral services for Kandra Hale, 1 1/2,
will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13, at St. John Evangelist. Burial
will be in Houck Community.
Hale died Jan. 6, 2009, in Querino Canyon. She was born Jan.
13, 2007, in Gallup, into the One Who Walks Around People Clan
for the Salt People Clan.
Survivors include her parents, Calandra Tsosie of Querino Canyon,
Lionel Hale of Tseyatoh; grandmother, Cheryl Toney.
Hale was preceded in death by her grandfather, Fermin Tsosie.
Pallbearers will be Lionel Hale, Marvin Toney.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Houck Chapter,
following services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Rose Henry
CANYON DE CHELLY Services are pending for Rose Chee Henry,
102.
Henry died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, in Chinle. She was born Aug.
10, 1906, in Canyon De Chelly, into the Tangle People Clan for
the Coyote Pass People Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Desbah Samuel
VANDERWAGEN Funeral services for Desbah Samuel, 91, will
be 10 a.m., Jan. 13, at Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints Church,
Ramah. Joe M. Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Community
Cemetery, Ramah.
Samuel died Jan. 7, 2009, in Gallup. She was born June 20, 1917,
in Ramah, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Meadow People
Clan.
Samuel enjoyed sheepherding, cookings, taking care of her grandchildren,
sewing and weaving. She always gave support to family.
Survivors include her daughters, Elsie M. Etsitty, Bernice Dodson,
both of Vanderwagen; brother, Ray Samuel of Utah; sister, Nazbah
Begaye of Ramah; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; eight
great-great-grandchildren.
Samuel was preceded in death by her father, Dick Pino; mother,
Bah Samuel; sister, Annie C. Begaye; three brothers, Oscar Samuel,
James Samuel.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Jesus Christ
of Latter-days Saints Church, following services.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
