Rena James

TWIN LAKES — Funeral services for Rena James, 85, will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 21, at the Free Trinity Mission, Tohlakai. The Rev. Dennis Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot, Twin Lakes.

James died April 16, 2008, in Gallup. She was born July 20, 1922, in Twin Lakes, into the Salt People Clan for the Bitter-Water People Clan.

James enjoyed weaving and bead making. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Dolores Sherman of Twin Lakes; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

James was preceded in death by her husband, Frank T. James; son, Charles H. James.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Sherman, Alfred John, Ernie Beston, Willie Sherman Jr., Darryl Johnson and Quintin Sherman.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Twin Lakes Chapter House, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Glenn Loretto

PREWITT — Funeral services for Glenn Loretto, 57, will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, at the First Baptist Church, Grants. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park. The Rev. Edward King will officiate.

Loretto died April 11, 2008, in Grants. He was born May 22, 1950, in Bluewater, into the Zia People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Loretto was a rancher, blacksmith and a carpenter at the time of his death. His hobbies included team roping. He was a member of the USTRC and a past member of NNRCA. He qualified for the INFR in 1976 and 1978.

Survivors included his wife, Lucia Loretto of Prewitt; mother, Velma Loretto of Prewitt; daughters, Tonya Rafael of Blackwater, Gwen Goodluck of Los Lunas, Glenda Loretto of Grants, Gayle Maria Hayes of Atlanta, Louchelle Loretto-Lewis of Virginia Beach; sisters, Etta Johnson of Prewitt, Marie Abeita of Los Angeles, Leta Lewis of Haystack, N.M., Nora Louis of Anzac, N.M.; brothers, Bennie Loretto of Prewitt, Dennis Loretto of Grants; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Loretto was preceded in death by his father, Mark Loretto.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Lewis, Zachary Loretto and Wes Wengert.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Stanley Shea Jr.

CRESTVIEW — Memorial services for Stanley D. Shea, Jr., 82, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at St. Francis Church, Gallup. The Rev. Eduardo (Lalo) Espinosa, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited at Rollie Mortuary, Monday, April 21, at 7 p.m.

Shea died April 13, 2008, in Gallup. He was born Sept. 29, 1925, in El Paso, Texas.

Shea attended New Mexico State University, Las Cruces. He retired from El Paso Natural Gas Co. Shea was in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He loved all animals, especially horses and enjoyed looking at antique clocks and cars and steam engines.

Survivors include his sons, Patrick, Kelly Shea; daughter, Kathleen; sister, Patricia Shea-Farlow; four grandchildren.

Shea was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Coppenbarger-Shea; parents, Stanley O-Shea Sr., Angelina Taranto-Shea; sister, Cecelia Rose Shea.

Pallbearers will be Kathleen Shea, Perry Merrill, Sal Martinez, Lee Merrill, Bridget Shea, Neal Shea, Brianna Shea, Brandon Shea, and Orlando Martinez.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 11-B Coal Basin, Gallup, behind Checker Auto and Merrill Fence.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the local Humane Society.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
