Deaths
Benjamin Chavez
GRANTS Funeral Mass for Benjamin Chavez,
73, will be 9 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at St. Teresa of Avila
Catholic Church. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park with full
military honors by the VFW Lodge 3221. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella
will be the celebrant. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. today, April
11, 2008, at Compassion Mortuary. A rosary will be 7 p.m. today,
at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Chavez died April 9, 2008, in Grants. He was
born June 6, 1934, in Grants.
Chavez was retired from the U.S. Air Force and
the Army. He was a life member of the VFW Post 3221.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Ann Chavez
of Grants; children, Diane Lynne McIntoch of Austin, Texas., Benjamin
Michael Chavez of San Rafael, Laurence P. Chavez of Albuquerque,
Mary Michelle Garcia of Buckeye, Ariz., Melissa Chavez of Grants;
sisters, Helen Diane of Milan, Delene Baca of Grants, Corrine
Chavez of Las Vegas, Nev., Tillie Padilla of Grants; four grandchildren.
Chavez was preceded in death by his parents,
Pantaleon Chavez, Mernciana Blea Chavez; daughter, Martinez Chavez;
sisters, Tona Mirabal, Lou McBride, Bonnie Trujillo; brothers,
Eddie Chavez, Arnold Chavez.
Pallbearers will be Laurence P. Chavez, Benjamin
Chavez, Kirk McIntoch, Joe Garcia, Daniel Reye Chavez, and Gerald
Harvey.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Zonnie Natoni
WHIPPOORWILL, Ariz. Gravesite services
for Zonnie S. Natoni, 89, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12,
at the graveside. Pastor Billy John will officiate. Burial will
be in family plot, Burntcorn, Ariz.
Natoni died April 9, 2008, in Whippoorwill.
She was born Dec. 10, 1918, in Burntcorn, into the Red Bottom
People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.
Natoni was a homemaker, rug weaver, and a rancher.
Survivors include her sons, Watson Natoni of
Leupp, Woody Natoni of Burntcorn; daughters, Nora Yazzie of Pinon,
Sadie Benally of Blue Gap, Ariz.; sisters, Mae Tso, Phyllis Yazzie,
Garnet Shonie, all of Pinon.
Natoni was preceded in death by her husband,
Wilson Natoni Sr.; sons, Wilson Natoni Jr., Nelson Natoni; daughter,
Agnes Natoni; sisters, Shonnie Begay, Bah Keesie; brothers, William
Ashley, Danny Cisco, Jimmy Cisco.
Pallbearers will be family members.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
