John Bee Sr.

CHICHILTAH – Funeral services for John Bee Sr., 95, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, at the Rollie Mortuary. Pastor Alvin Cayatineto will officiate. Burial will be in family land.

Bee died April 4, 2008, in Zuni. He was born March 15, 1913, into the Water Edge People Clan for the Sleeping Rock People Clan.

Bee worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, Union Pacific Railroad, and the Republican National Committee. He built ammo shelters in Fort Wingate and Utah.

Survivors include his wife, Zonnie Bee of Chichiltah; sons, Tony Jarmillo, Johnny Bee, Andy Bee, Linda Chee; daughters, Mava Nez, Rose Bee, Elsie Bee, Nellie Bee, Bah Antonio; parents, Haghee Bah and Chatto; brothers, Jimmy Chatto, Eugene Chatto; sister, Louise Skeet; many grandchildren, great–grandchildren, and great–great–grandchildren.

Bee was preceded in death by his sister, Lena Navajo; two children; stepson, Glenn Smith.

Pallbearers will be Malcolm Franciso, Wacey Bee, Naphtali Brown, Jaycee Bee, Darius Antonio, and Gabriel Nells.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Chichiltah Chapter House, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Cadman

MARIANO LAKE – Services for Mary Cadman.

Cadman died April 4, 2008, in Las Vegas, NV.

Cadman was preceded in death by Willie M. Charley and Katherine Wilson.

Alice Lackey

GRANTS – Services for Alice Lackey, 69, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, at the Church of Christ. Burial will be in Grants Memorial Park. Pastor Charlton Taylor will be the celebrant. Visitation will be 4–7 p.m., today, April 8, at the Compassion Mortuary.

Lackey died April 4, 2008, in Grants. She was born Aug. 28, 1938, in Rosenberg, Texas.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth Ray Mazone of Grants, Elvis Louis Hilliard of Montana, Mildred Denise Hilliard of Lovington, Jacqueline Welch of Santa Fe, Howard Lackey Jr. of Montana, Michael Norton Lackey of Las Vegas, Henry David Lackey of Albuquerque, Shamicqueica Lackey of Grants, Angela Lackey of Grants, Gina Stance of Albuquerque, Joshua Lackey of Albuquerque; sister, Lillie Bell Wiggins of Glendale; brothers, Frank Hilliard of Grants, Louis Hilliard of Tacoma, Wash.; 29 grandchildren; 30 great–grandchildren.

Lackey was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lackey Sr.; parents, Henry Howard Hilliard, Isabel Caroline Hilliard; sister, Rose Lee Geter; brothers, Henry Hilliard Jr., John Lee Hilliard.

Pallbearers will be Walter Lee Simes, Marvin Welch, Johnny Welch, Chris Sena, Chris Cargil, and Michael Herrera.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn Thomas

PINEHAVEN – Funeral services for Evelyn Lee Thomas, 52, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, at the Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Bobby Willie will officiate. Burial will be in Pinehaven Mission Cemetery.

Thomas died April 5, 2008, in Albuquerque. She was born July 26, 1955, in Pinehaven, into the Zuni Water Edge People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Thomas graduated from Intermountain High School in Utah. She worked as a housekeeper and caregiver with Quality Home Care and was also self-employed. She was a member of the Native American Church and her hobbies included arts and crafts, such as sewing, crocheting, watching movies, and helping at events.

Survivors include her son, Dixon Thomas of Pinehaven; daughters, Nadine Thomas of Pinehaven, Claudine Thomas of Albuquerque; father, Tom Lee.

Thomas was preceded in death by mother, Rosie Lee Tennison; brothers, David Sam Jimmy; husband, Danny Thomas.

Pallbearers will be David Sam, Chris Sam, Harry Nez, and Steven Nez.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Breadsprings Chapter House, following services.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
