William Claude
TOHLAKAI, N.M. Services for William Thomas
Claude, 61, will be 10 a.m. April 8, at the Free Trinity Church,
Tohlakai. Dennis Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in family
land, Tohlakai.
Claude died April 3, 2008, in Gallup. He was born Sept. 30, 1946,
in Fort Defiance, into the Edge Water People Clan for the One
Who Walks Around People Clan.
Claude attended Fort Defiance Boarding School,
and graduated from Intermountain Indian School in 1967. He served
in the U.S. Navy between 1968-1972, and was a Vietnam veteran.
He worked with NTUA and retired from utility maintenance in Fort
Defiance. His hobbies included fishing and spending time with
his family.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Martinez of
Tohlakai; sons, William Claude Jr., Marcus Claude, Marco Claude;
stepdaughters, Loretta Tsosie, Darlene Martinez; father, Johnny
Claude of Twin Lakes; brothers, Johnson Claude, Alvin Kinsel,
Gary Claude, Anderson Claude, Herbert Claude, Edison Claude; sisters,
Arlene Thomas, Valerie Thomas-Murphy, Rita Claude-Watchman, Marlene
Claude; 13 grandchildren.
Claude was preceded in death by his mother,
Mary R. Thomas; brothers, Harold Spencer, Nelson Claude, Gilbert
Claude.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Claude, Nathaniel
Martinez, Larry Tsosie, Eric Martinez, Darwin Martinez, and Tony
Lilly.
The family will receive relatives and friends
at Twin Lakes Chapter House, following services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Alice Davis
BLUEWATER LAKE Services are pending for
Alice L. Davis, 75.
Davis died Saturday, April 5, 2008, in Gallup.
She was born June 6, 1932, in Standing Rock, into the Folded Arms
People Clan for the Jemez People Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Sam Yazzie Sr.
LUKACHUKAI Funeral services for Sam W. Yazzie Sr., 82,
will be 10 a.m., today, April 7, at St. Isabel Catholic Church
at Lukachukai. Interment will be at Lukachukai Community Cemetery.
Full military honors will be provided by the Central Navajo Veterans
Organization Honor Guards of Chinle, Ariz.
Yazzie died Thursday, April 3, 2008 in Phoenix. He was
born June 15, 1925, in Round Rock, Ariz.
Yazzie was an Army Veteran in the Korean War.
Desert View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
