Joe Benally
SUNDANCE Services for Joe White Benally, 73, will be 10
a.m., Friday, Jan. 2, at Joshua Generation for Jesus. Mark Thomas
will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth.
Benally died Dec. 28, 2008, in Gallup. He was born Oct. 15, 1935,
in Vanderwagon, into the Black Streak of Forest People Clan for
the Bitter Water People Clan.
Benally went to school at Intermountain, Utah. He worked at Union
Pacific Railroad and UNC Mining. He also worked around the house
and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Helen R. Benally of Rehoboth; son,
Arnold Benally of Rehoboth; daughters, Laura Benally of Rehoboth,
Helena Bates of Yatahey; brothers, Chee Benally, Hoskie Chee,
both of Red Rock; sisters, Rose Elliott, Bessie Teenager, both
of Vanderwagon, Mary Francis of Gallup, Helen Kee, Rena Skeet
of Contenintal Divide, Maggie Skeet of Dallas, Texas; nine grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Albert Benally, Merle Bates, Sheldon Benally,
Casey Brown, Burton Elliott, Peter Benally.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Esther Chee
TOHLAKAI Services are pending for Esther Mae Chee, 49.
Chee died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, in Gallup.
She was born Sept. 96, 1959, in Gallup, into the Ute People Clan
for the Edge Water People Clan.

Iven John
BREADSPRINGS Services for Iven Harrison John, 25, are
pending for 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, at Rehoboth Christian Reformed
Church.
John died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, in Gallup. He was born Aug.
14, 1983, in Gallup.

Jean Ortiz
GALLUP Funeral Mass for Jean I. Ortiz, 67, will be 10
a.m., Friday, Jan. 2, at Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Rev. Matthew
Keller will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallup.
A rosary will be recited 7 p.m., Jan. 1, at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Ortiz died Dec. 27, 2008, in Gallup. She was born Nov. 2, 1941,
in Gallup.
Oritz attended Gallup Cathedral High School. She worked at Shop-N-Save
for 17 years. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing and crocheting.
She was best known for her great-tasting tamales.
Survivors include her husband, Gabriel Ortiz Sr. of Gallup; daughter,
Julie Ortiz of Albuquerque; brothers, Lorenzo Bustamante, Edward
Bustamante, Philip Bustamante, Michael Bustamante, all of Gallup;
sister, Estella Bustamante of Grants; three grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren.
Ortiz was preceded in death by her parents, Adolfo and Regina
Bustamante; son, Gabriel Ortiz Jr.; daughter, Debbie Ortiz; brothers,
Tony Bustamante, Adolfo Bustamante; sister, Regina Montanyo.

Jimmie White
PINE HILL Funeral services for Jimmie White, 61, will
be 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 2, at Pine Hill Church of God, Pine Hill.
The Rev. Freddie Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill.
White was born Sept. 24, 1947, in Pine Hill.
Survivors include his parents, Joe and Elsie White; brothers,
McDaniel Eriacho, Bennie White; sister, Shirley White.
White was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Eriacho,
Herman White Sr., Frank White; sisters, Clara Maria, Alice Raphealito.
Pallbearers will be Herman White Jr., Sherman White, Denny White,
Robert Eriacho, Henry Maria, Lester Jim.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Ann Whiteman
GALLUP Memorial services for Ann Radosevich Whiteman,
85, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
The Rev. Lawrence OKeefe will officiate. Private disposition
will take place at a later date.
Whiteman died Dec. 20, 2008, in Gallup. She was born Jan. 6,
1922, in Coal Basin, N.M.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Sacred Heart
Cathedral Family Center, following services.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gallup McKinley County
Humane Society, P.O. Box 550 Gallup, in memory of Ann Whitemann.

Lille Yazzie
SHEEP SPRINGS Services for Lillie Rose Yazzie, 56, will
be 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, at Pentecostal Church. Daniel Jones
will officiate. Burial will be in Sheep Springs. Visitation will
be NHA #28, Sheep Springs.
Yazzie died Dec. 28, 2008, in Sheep Springs. She was born March
29, 1953, in Sheep Springs, into the Red House People Clan for
the Salt People Clan.
Survivors include her sons, Bronso Enrico of Denver, Tracy Bryant
of Sheep Springs, Robertson Yazzie of Sheep Springs; daughters,
Lenora Enrico of Sheep Springs, Velda Yazzie of Hatch, Utah; sisters,
Lucy Simpson of Kirtland, Angela Bryant of Albuquerque; 22 grandchildren.
Yazzie was preceded in death by Rose and Nelson Bryant, Paul
Denetdeal, Jim Bryant; sons, Tony Enrico Jr., Jefferson Yazzie
Jr., Jason Yazzie.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Sheep Springs
Chapter House, following services.
