Dorothy Bowerman
GRANTS Graveside services for Dorothy R. Bowerman, 94,
will be 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 19, at Grants Memorial Park. The
Rev. Dale Thatcher will officiate.
Bowerman died Dec. 14, 2008, in Grants. She was born Nov. 19,
1914, in Potten, England.
Survivor include her daughter, Jean Day of Grants; brothers, William
Hutchinson, Bob Hutchinson, both of England; sister, Hazel Looker
of England; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one
great-great-grandchild.
Bowerman was preceded in death by her parents, William Hutchinson,
Eliza Brown Hutchinson; daughter, Jennifer Hoveland.

Emelia Gomez
GRANTS Private services for Emelia Gomez, 74, have been
held.
Gomez died Dec. 14, 2008, in Albuquerque. She was born Dec. 21,
1933, in Alamogordo.
Survivors include her children, Micahel E. Trisler of Milan, Anna
Marie Goodson of Grants.

Tyrone Jeff Sr.
MARIANO LAKE Funeral services for Tyrone Sammie Jeff Sr.,
58, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Rollie Mortuary, Gallup.
Charley Long/Ernest Yazzie will officiate. Burial will be in Crownpoint
Community Cemetery.
Jeff died Dec. 12, 2008, in Waterflow. He was born May 7, 1950,
in Mariano Lake, into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan
for the Red Bottom People Clan.
Jeff loved to watch t.v. and make plans for his hobbies and activities.
He liked chatting, traveling and making new friends. Jeff graduated
from Wingate High School. He was a medicine mad and was self employed.
His hobbies included arts and crafts, fipel feathers, and conducting
sweat lodges. Jeff loved basketball and was open to new cultures
and the public. He liked casinos, spending time with his kids
and relaxing.
Survivors include his wife, Sophie Cooper of Albuquerque; sons,
Jerome Jeff of Phoenix, Tyrone Jeff Jr. of Albuquerque, Tyson
Jeff of Albuquerque, Ethan Jeff of Churchrock; daughters, Tyrene
Jeff of Albuquerque, Tammy Jeff of Albuquerque, Trina Jeff of
Albuquerque, Esther Jeff of Churchrock; brothers, Sam Jeff of
Crownpoint, Danny Jeff of Thoreau; sisters, Fannie Tom of Mariano
Lake, Mary Jeff of Mariano Lake, Louise Nez of Mariano Lake; seven
grandchildren.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Young and Alice Jeff;
sisters, Annie Tom, Nancy Johnson, Lorraine Mariano; brother,
Jimmy Jeff.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Tom, Tyrone Jeff Jr., Tyson Jeff,
Jerome Jeff, Benjamin Tom, Larry Tom.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Mariano Lake
Chapter, following services.

Arthur Jones Jr.
COYOTE CANYON Funeral services for Arthur Lewis Jones
Jr., 38, will be 10 a.m., Dec. 17, at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup.
Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.
Jones died Dec. 12, 2008, in Gallup. He was born March 23, 1970,
in Gallup, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Meadow People
Clan.
Jones graduated from Tohatchi High School in 1988 and attended
UNM-Gallup Branch for a semester for welding. He was employed
with TAOS as a care giver for the special needs and worked various
jobs. His hobbies were arts and crafts, auto body work and listening
to all sorts of music and was computer literate. Jones best
characteristic was that he loved to be with his relatives and
friends.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Jones of Tohatchi; sons, Andrea
Jones of Tohatchi, Issac Jones of Mexican Springs; daughter, Nizhoni
Jones of Tohatchi; parents, Norcisia Jones of Coyote Canyon, Arthur
Jones Sr. of Coyote Canyon; brothers, MacArthur Jones of Coyote
Canyon, Preston Jones of Coyote Canyon; sisters, Joann Aguado
of Gallup, Jennifer Johnhat of Coyote Canyon; grandparents, Emerson
Plummer of Coyote Canyon, Bahe Jones of Rock Springs.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Manuelito, Elton Jones, Byron McCabe,
Roland Malony, Fredrick Manuelito, Dean Jones.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Coyote Canyon
Chapter House, following services.

Max Mirabal
GRANTS Funeral Mass for Max Mirabal, 84, will be 10 a.m.,
Dec. 19, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will be
in Grants Memorial Park. The Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be
the celebrant. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec.
18, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mirabal died Dec. 13, 2008, in Albuquerque. He was born July
12, 1924, in Dener, N.M.
Mirabal worked for Four Corners exploration, Keer McGee and Cal
Construction. He also ran the Tinaja Bar in El Morro and worked
with his father earlier on in the Mirabal Mines and Logging. He
enjoyed helping people and being around his family.
Survivors include his sons, Gene Mirabal of Milan, William Campbell,
Dave Campbell, both of Grants; daughter, Margaret Wilson of Grants;
companion, Zenobia Campbell of Grants; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Mirabal was preceded in death by his parents, Moises Mirabal,
Sarah McDaniel Mirabal; son, Raymond Bozo Mirabal;
brothers, Clifford Mirabal, Clarence Mirabal, Felix Mirabal; sisters,
Stella Salazar, and an infant sister.
Pallbearers will be Bill Wilson, Chesley Elkins, Danny Mirabal,
William Campbell, Juan Mirabal, Jory Mirabal.

Shirley Russell
GALLUP Funeral services are pending for Shirley Ruth Russell,
60.
Russell died Dec. 13, 2008, in Gallup. She was born Oct. 4, 1940,
