Diné committees meet in Las Vegas

WINDOW ROCK — According to the legislative branch’s meetings schedule, seven of the Navajo Nation Council’s standing committees are in Las Vegas this week.

The Government Services Committee is scheduled to attend a meeting for the large land based tribes and a National American Indian Housing Council symposium Dec. 9-12.

The Budget and Finance Committee is scheduled to be in Las Vegas for an investment work session from Dec. 9-13.

The Transportation and Community Development Committee is in Las Vegas Dec. 7-11 for the annual Intertribal Transportation Association conference at the Golden Nugget and the housing symposium.

The Education Committee will be attending the 13th annual Native American Grant School Association conference Dec. 10-14.

The Judiciary Committee is attending “Essentials of Indian Law” Dec. 10-13.

The Human Services Committee has investment meetings in Las Vegas Dec. 9-13.

Finally, the Resources Committee is attending the Indian Agricultural Symposium at the Flamingo Dec. 7-13.

The only other committee on travel this week is the Health and Social Services Committee. It will be in Gallup for the Indian Health Services budget work session Dec. 10-12.
Meetings this week in Window Rock included the Intergovernmental Relations Committee with a special meeting and a work session on Monday, a Government Services Committee special meeting on Monday and a regular meeting on Tuesday, and Human Services Committee regular meeting on Monday and veterans sub-committee meeting on Tuesday.
