Letha Darrow

GRANTS — Services for Letha Darrow, 71, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Grants Memorial Park. The Rev. Garland Moore will officiate.

Darrow died Dec. 7, 2008, in Grants. She was born Nov. 11, 1937, in Grand Junction, Colo.
Survivors include her children, Roxanna Sena of Milan, Dena Jensen of Grants, Frank Darrow of Las Vegas; sister, Lucy Hutchinson of Florida; brother, Emmett Mays of Minnisota; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Darrow was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Mays and Edith Mays.

Lucillia Dineyazhe

COLD SPRINGS, Ariz. — Funeral Mass for Lucilla O. Dineyazhe, 77, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Fort Defiance. The Rev. Gilbert will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m., Dec. 10, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited 6 p.m., tonight, Dec. 9, at Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Dineyazhe died Dec. 6, 2008, in Fort Defiance. She was born May 24, 1931, in Cold Springs, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.
Dineyazhe attended St. Michaels Catholic School for 12 years and Western Business College for 2 years. She retired from Navajo Nation in 1993, after 41 years of service. She liked to travel with her husband Andrew.

Dineyazhe was a member of the Catholic Church and a devoted member of the Native American Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her sons, Alex Dineyazhe of St. Michaels, Andrew P. Dineyazhe III, of Fort Defiance; daughters, Patricia Dineyazhe-Truesdell of Tuba City, Orlinda Dineyazhe of Cold Springs, Deborah Dineyazhe of Fort Defiance; brother, Peter Yazzie of Fort Defiance; sisters, Lillian Malone of Mexican Springs, Mary Ann Robbins of Fort Defiance, Betty Allison of Tohatchi; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Dineyazhe was preceded in death by her father, John E. Watchman; mother, Onebah Watchman; husband, Andrew P. Dineyazhe Jr.; daughers, Beverly, Jacqueline, Natalie Dineyazhe; one granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Brian Hillis, Corey Martin, Craig Orillie, Russell Dayzie, Clint Dayzie, Christopher Arviso.

The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Dominic Hall, Fort Defiance, following services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Max Garcia

GALLUP — Memorial services for Max E. Garcia, 86, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Sacred Heart Cathedral Church. Burial will be in Garcia Ranch, Pinehaven. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m., tonight, Dec. 9, at Rollie Mortuary.

Garcia died Dec. 4, 2008, in Pinehaven. He was born Aug. 27, 1922, in Ramah.

Garcia served in the Army during World War II as a medic and was a POW. He retired from the Gallup McKinley County Schools and was a lifetime rancher. He was a longtime member of the Indian Capital Horseman’s Association and a supporter of the Gallup Lions Club Rodeo, were he lead the Grand Entry until 2005. Garcia was a supporter of the Bi-County Fair and 4-H.

He enjoyed rodeos, breaking and training horses, singing and playing guitar, and hunting with his coon dogs.

Survivors include his sons, Leonard Garcia of Gallup, Marvin Garcia of Phoenix; daughters, Elena Bowers, Hilda Kendall, both of Pinehaven; sister, Mary Landavazo of Mesa; four grandchildren.

Garcia was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle Garcia; son, Joseph Garcia; parents, Perfecta and Amado Garcia; brothers, Henry Garcia, Ben Garcia, Manuel Garcia; sisters, Dolores Bigley, Rosenda Montano, Lourdes Oliver; one grandson.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Bowers, Vaughn Kendall, Mathew Landavazo, David Blanchard, John Schmidt, and Zach Colson.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Gallup Lions Club Hall, following rosary.

Beatrice Longhair

BREADSPRINGS — Services for Beatrice Longhair, 53, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Cope Memorial Chapel. Thomas Sandoval will officiate. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.

Longhair died Dec. 6, 2008, in Breadsprings. She was born Sept. 4, 1955, in Gallup, into the Towering House People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.

Beatrice (Bea) attended Crownpoint Boarding School, Breadsprings Day, and Wingate High School. She worked at Ambassador Motel and Al Zuni. She liked doing crossword puzzles, reading her bible, going to church, and being with family. Longhair enjoyed helping others.

Survivors include her parents, Joe and Donna Longhair; brothers, Harry Longhair, Tully Longhair, Jack Longhair, Ned Longhair, Benny Longhair; sisters, Lois Nelson, Linda Long, Grace Singer, Linda Leupp, Louise Humphrey.
Longhair was preceded in death by her brothers, Kee Joe Longhair, David Longhair; father, Joe Longhair Sr.

Pallbearers will be Jenson Peshlakai, Randy Lewis, Olsen Smith, Sammie John, Myron Bitsilly, Ross Toledo.

The family will receive relatives and friends at John and Lois Nelson residence, Breadsprings, following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Wynell Paslay

GRANTS — Graveside services for Wynell L. Paslay, 88, will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Grants Memorial Park.

Paslay died Dec. 7, 2008, in Grants. She was born Nov. 13, 1919, in Hubbard, Texas.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Padgett of Grants, Nancy Shaw of Winnemucca, Nev.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Paslay was preceded in death by her parents, William Hutchinson, Lena Hutchinson; one grandson.
