Randy Arthur
TOHATCHI Services are pending for Randy James Arthur,
25.
Arthur died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008. He was born March 8, 1983,
in Gallup, into the Zuni People Clan for the Towering House People
Clan.
A meeting for family and friends will be 6 p.m., tonight, Nov.
21, at Tohatchi Chapter House.

Edith Bitsoi
CHINLE Funeral services for Edith Bacon Bitsoi, 67, will
be 10 a.m., Nov. 22, at Grace Fellowship Church. The Rev. Joe
James Begay will officiate.
Burial will be in family plot.
Bitsoi died Nov. 17, 2008, in Chinle. She was born Nov. 17, 1941,
in Talihina, Okla., into the Choctaw People Clan.
Bitsoi had 16 years of education. She was employed with Chinle
Valley School working with exceptional handicapped children and
later retired from there. After retirement, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Deswood Bitsoi Sr.; sons, Bennie
Bitsoi Dannie Bitsoi, Deswood Bitsoi Jr., Edmond Bitsoi; daughters,
Bonnie Dee Botsoi, Connit Bitsoi Tso, Pennie Bitsoi, Donnie Bitsoi;
40 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Bitsoi was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Bitsoi;
one granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Edmond Bitsoi, Garrick Billy, Danley Bitsoi,
Hansen Bitsoi, Harland Thinn, Orlando Thinn, Greggory Billy, Kenneth
Billy.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Redwood House
#7 in Chinle, following services.

Peggy Chicharello
TWIN BUTTES Funeral services for Peggy O. Chicharello,
81, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at Rollie Mortuary Palm
Chapel. The Rev. Jake Yazzie Jr. will officiate. Burial will be
in Gallup City Cemetery.
Chicharello died Nov. 18, 2008, in Gallup. She was born June
22, 1927,in Mentmore, into the Black Streak Wood People Clan for
the Towering House People Clan.
Chicharello was a homemaker. She did beadwork, rug weaving and
quilts. She loved to cook native food and loved to help others.
Survivors include her sons, Johnny Chicharello of Iyanbito, Eugene
Chicharello of Crestview, Nelson Chicharello of Crestview, Albert
Chicharello of Crestview; daughters, Dorothy Spencer of Crestview,
Juanita Chicharello of Crestview; brothers, Francis Ortiz, Robert
Ortiz, John Jack, all of Twin Buttes; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
Chicharello was preceded in death by her sons, Bennie, Ralphie;
daughter, Evelyn Chicharello; husband, James Chicharello; two
grandsons.
Pallbearers will be Denton Gleason, Aldren Chicharello, Erwin
Chicharello, Albert Chicharello, Brian James, Ronald Ortiz.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Red Rock Chapter
House, following services.

John Horrocks
GALLUP Memorial services for John V. (Jack) Horrocks,
89, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at East Aztec Baptist
Church, Gallup. Gene Turk will officiate.
Horrocks died Nov. 19, 2008, in Gallup. He was born Aug. 16,
1919, in Gallup.
Horrocks attended Gallup High School and University of Colorado,
Boulder. He worked at Gallup Flying Service. He was a lifelong
member of the Elks Club. His hobbies included flying-general aviation,
fishing, spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his sons, James (Jim) Horrocks of Gallup, Richard
(Rick) Horrocks of Glendale; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Horrocks was preceded in death by his wife, Mavourneen Horrocks;
son, John V. Horrocks Jr.
Delores Largo
GALLUP Services for Delores Longhair Largo, 39, will be
11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs
Witnesses, 3721 Churchrock St., Gallup. Mark Vincent will officiate.
Largo died Nov. 13, 2008, in Gallup. She was born June 24, 1969,
in Gallup, into the Towering House People Clan for the Bitter
Water People Clan.
Largo graduated from Gallup High School in 1987 and graduated
from Police Academy and worked for the Gallup Police Dept. for
numerous years.
She was a homemaker and was a Jehovahs Witness.
Survivors include her son, Dante Drake Largo of Gallup; sisters,
Donna L. Reed, Becky Wilson Moure of Pinehaven.
Largo was preceded in death by her husband, William Largo; mother,
Dorothy Nez Begay; stepfather, Buck Wilson.
The family will receive relatives and friends 2 p.m., Nov. 22,
at Bread Springs Chapter, following services.

Dennis Martine
RAMAH Funeral services for Dennis Martine, 60, will be
10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Jesus Christ of Latter-days
Saints Church, Ramah. Gilbert Maria will officiate. Burial will
be in family plot, Ramah. Visitation will be 10 a.m., Nov. 22
at the Church.
Martine died Nov. 19, 2008, in Gallup. He was born June 6, 1948,
in Ramah, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Ute People
Clan.
Martine attended school in Ramah. He graduated from Fort Wingate
High School in 1967. He was a US Marine from 1967-1970. He was
a Sergeant and received a Purple Heart. Martine continued his
education at Haskell Indian Junior College and Eastern New Mexico
University, where he received an MBA in 1976. He was employed
as a legal consultant and deputy director for the Navajo Nation
Veterans Affairs, executive director at Borrego Pass School,
a Navajo Nation police officer, director of JTPA at Ramah Navajo
School Board, Inc., Military Prison Guard, and a Construction
Worker in Dallas, TX. Martine was very involved in Tribal Government.
He was vice president for the Ramah Navajo Chapter in the mid
1970s, a Land Board member in early 2000, and a member of the
Ramah Navajo School Board in the early 1990s, and a member of
the Native American Church. He was a recipient of honors and awards
for his athletic abilities, education, and community involvement.
His hobbies included reading, writing, and carpentry. He enjoyed
being with his family, friends, making people laugh, and running,
basketball, dancing and bull riding. He always watched FOX News,
Western movies, professional bull riding, and wrestling.
Survivors include his wife, Estelle Martine; sons, Omar Martine
of Flagstaff, Lionel Martine of Ramah; daughters, Quantina Martine
of Albuquerque; Rendessa Martine of Flagstaff; Ingrid Martine
of Portables, Trina Martine of Ramah, Sabrina Martine of Ramah,
Breanna Martine of Ramah; brothers, Jerry Pino Sr. of Ramah, Kaye
Thompson of Ramah, Curley K. Biggs of Ramah; sisters, Ella Joe
of Glendale, June Lee of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren.
Martine was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Pino; sister,
Lucinda Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Ramah Navajo Veterans and the Tohatchi Veterans
Honor guard.

Carol McCorkey
MEXICAN SPRINGS Services are pending for Carol McCorkey,
44.
McCorkey died Nov. 20, 2008, in Gallup. She was born Oct. 13,
1964, in Crownpoint.
A family meeting will be 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Mexican
Springs Chapter. All friends and relatives are encouraged to attend.

Jolene Mescal
FORT DEFIANCE Services for Jolene Mae Mescal, 27, will
be 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at Grace Navajo Baptist Church,
Gallup. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery.
Mescal died Nov. 15, 2008, in Wide Ruins. She was born Dec. 2,
1980, in Gallup, into the Sleeping Rock People Clan for the Honey
Comb Rock People Clan.
Mescal attended Gallup High School, class of 2001. She attended
Job Corps in Albuquerque and worked as a nursing assistant. Mescal
was a member of the Manuelito Chapter.
Survivors include her son, Kendryx Bleigh Begay of Gallup; daughter,
Cheyenne Lynn Begay of Gallup; parents, Fannie Cowboy of Window
Rock, Eugene Mescal of Farmington; brothers, Geno Mescal of Gallup,
Gary Lee of Hunters Point, Clifton Cornfield of Gallup;
sisters, Sharon Cornfield of Fort Defiance, Sherry Cornfield of
Albuquerque, Clara Lee of Hunters Point; grandmother, Louise
Thomas of Manuelito.
Mescal was preceded in death by her grandfather, Frank Cowboy.
Pallbearers will be Gino Mescal, Clifton Cornfield, Gary Lee,
Emerson Peterson, Eric John, Austin John, Lambert Smith.

Sharon Wilson
SMITH LAKE Funeral services for Sharon Jane Wilson, 39,
will be 10 a.m., Nov. 22, at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Church, Thoreau. Burial will be in Smith Lake Cemetery.
Wilson died Nov. 17, 2008, in Thoreau. She was born Nov. 25,
1968, in Crownpoint, into the Black Streak Forest People Clan.
Wilson attended Fort Wingate Elementary, Eastmont Middle School,
and high school in Sandy, Utah, and graduated in 1986. Wilson
worked as a clerk, cashier and construction with N.E.C.A.
Survivors include her son, Dion Brian Dawes; daughters, Lisa
M. Leonard, Danielle, Dezirree Dawes; parents, Tom and Marjorie
Nez; brother, Fitzgerald Nez; sister, Charlotte J. Wilson; grandmother,
Mary Tsosie; one grandchild.
Wilson was preceded in death by her brother, Harrison J. Wilson;
grandfather, Kee Platero.
Pallbearers will be Fitzgerald Nez, Irvin Tom Sr., Marshall Tom,
Dion B. Dawes, Tom Nez, Herman Tom.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Smith Lake Chapter
House, following services.
