Rose Chavez
GALLUP Funeral Mass for Rose B. Chavez, 92, will be at 10 a.m.
Monday, Oct. 2 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will
follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Chavez died Sept. 27 in Albuquerque. She was born April 16, 1914 in
the McGaffey area.
Chavez graduated from Cathedral High School. Her and her late husband
were the owners of F and R market in Gallup.
Survivors include sons, Robert Chavez and Donald Chavez both of Gallup;
daughters, Lorraine Gruda of Gallup and Barbara Chavez of McKinleyville,
Calif.; sister, Pat Pedigrew of San Diego, Calif.; ten grandchildren
and 16 great-grandchildren.
Chavez was preceded in death by husband, Fermin Chavez; parents, Benito
Baca and Luciana Castillo Baca.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Ronald Carroll
CHINLE Services for Ronald Von Carroll, 48, will be at 10 a.m.
Monday, Oct. 2 at the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
in Chinle. Bishop James Higgs will officiate. Burial will follow at
the Chinle Community Cemetery.
Carroll died Sept. 28 in Chinle. He was born Nov. 9, 1957 in Chinle
into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Carroll attended Chinle Elementary School, Chinle Jr. High and on a
replacement program in Tucson. He was employed in Idaho as a seasonal
plantation worker and a custodian at Chinle Nursing Home. His hobbies
include being around livestock, taming and branding horses.
Survivors include wife, Geneva D. Carroll of Chinle; sons, Ronaldo Carroll
of Chinle; daughter, Rochelle Carroll of Mesa, Ariz.; mother, Alice
Carroll of Chinle; brothers, Gilbert Carroll, Sr., of Chinle and Mike
Carroll of Flagstaff; sisters, Evangeline Nezayaktewa of Flagstaff,
Marilyn Kimbo and Diane Carroll, both of Chinle, Deljane Delgado of
Texas and Tari Carroll of Tuba City and one grandchild.
Carroll was preceded in death by father, Chee Carroll, Sr.; brothers,
Thompson Mike Carroll, Nelson Mike Carroll, Chee Mike Carroll, Jr.,
Rupert Mike Carroll and stepfather, James G. Ahasteen.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Tso, Thaddeus C. Carroll, Andrew Sellers,
Romero Shirley, Franklin T. Craig and Gilbert M. Carroll, Jr.
