Mattie Terry
GREASEWOOD Services for Mattie B. Terry, 86, will be 10 a.m.
Monday, Oct. 30 at Our Lady of the Rosary in Greasewood. Burial will
follow at Greasewood Community Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour
prior to services.
Terry died Oct. 25 in Winslow. She was born May 5, 1920 in Lower Greasewood
in to the Red House People Clan for the Honeycomb Rock People Clan.
Terry was a 1938 Santa Fe Indian School graduate and retired from the
BIA-Holbrook Dormitory. Her hobbies included watching pow-wow's and
gourd dancing.
Survivors include sons, Al Terry, Pete Terry and Randy Terry; daughters,
Dorothy Kelley and Charlene Kelley; brothers, Harry Bitsilly, Haskie
Bitsilly and Donald Bitsilly; sister, Marie James; 11 grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren.
Terry was preceded in death by husband Dolph B. Terry; sons, Michael
Terry and Nelson Terry.
The family wil receive relatives and friends at The Greasewood Chapter
House after services.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Franklin Nez
JONES RANCH Services for Franklin Thomas Nez, 39, will be 10
a.m. Monday, Oct. 30 at Valley View Church of God on Skeets Road. Reverend
Kee Benally will officiate. Burial will follow at family land in Jones
Ranch.
Nez died Oct. 24 in Jones Ranch. He was born Oct. 29, 1966 in Gallup
into the Sleeping Rock People Clan for the Water Flows Together People
Clan.
Nez was a 1985 Wingate High School graduate. He worked at a Touch of
Santa Fe in Gallup. His hobbies include babysitting, cooking and playing
basketball.
Survivors include his son Christopher Nez of Pinedale; daughters, Latisha
Mae Nez and Francesca Mae Emerson, both of Pinedale; parents, Ella Mae
Young of Jones Ranch and Norris Thomas Nez of Iyanbito; stepfather Ray
F. Young of Jones Ranch;brothers, Randy Young and Ronnie Young, both
of Jones Ranch; sister, Evelina Begay of Jones Ranch; grandmother Jean
Nez.
Nez was preceded in death by grandparents, Jim Duboise, Mary Duboise,
Kee Nez and sister, Priscilla Henderson.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Nez, Andrew Duboise, David Duboise,
Jr., Gabriel Begay, Randy Young and Ronnie Young.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Chichiltah Chapter
House.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Anna Bitsie
NASCHITTI Services for Anna T. Bitsie, 68, will be 10 a.m. Monday,
Oct. 30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tohatchi. Burial will follow
at Lone Pine Cemetery in Mexican Springs. Father Joe Redinbo, OFM, will
officiate. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 at Cope Memorial
Chapel in Kirtland.
Bitsie died Oct. 25 in Kirtland. She was born July 1, 1938 in Naschitti
into the Towering House People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.
Bitsie was retired after 30 years from the BIA Food Service Department
for Tohatchi Boarding School and Chuska School. Her hobbies include
baking, playing bingo, crossword puzzles, crochet and being with her
grandchildren.
Survivors include husband, Arthur Bitsie of Kirtland; daughters, Sylvia
Bitsie, Brenda Begay, Dephinyia Clah, all of Kirtland and Elanora Nez
of Flagstaff; brother, Nelson Francisco of Naschitti; sisters, Lilly
Francisco of Naschitti, Lorena Carl of Page, Ariz., Juanita Willie of
Naschitti and Ruby Johnson of Shiprock; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Bitsie was preceded in death by her son, Renial Bitsie; parents, Martin
and Olive Francisco; brothers, Herman Francisco and Henry Francisco
and sister, Eva Nabahe.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Shirley, Martin Bitsie, Erwin Bitsilly, George
Skeet, Latasha Bitsie-Tsosie and Delvin Begay.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Tillie Garcia
GALLUP Services for Tillie Garcia, 74, will be noon, Tuesday,
Oct. 31 at St. Francis Catholic Church. Father Eduardo Chacon, OFM,
will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gallup.
Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30 at Rollie Mortuary. A
rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30 at St. Francis Catholic
Church.
Garcia died Thursday, Oct. 26 in Gallup. She was born Jan. 12, 1932
in Gallup.
Her hobbies include dancing, listening to music, family gatherings,
playing the piano and going to casinos.
Survivors include her husband, George Garcia of Gallup; sons, Anthony
Garcia of Gallup, John Garcia of Vanderwagen, Michael Garcia of Peoria,
Ariz. and Robert Garcia of Gallup; daughters, Delphinia Frey of Lakewood,
Calif., Eleanor Torcha Garcia of Gallup and Cynthia Parra of Peoria,
Ariz.; 32 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Garcia was preceded in death by father; Pedro Parra; mother, Delfinia
Parra; sons, Carlos Parra and Ronald Parra.
Pallbearers will be Anthony D. Garcia, John Garcia, Joseph Garcia, Robert
J. Garcia, Robert Jr. Garcia and Jesse Ray Padilla.Rollie Mortuary is
in charge of arrangements.
