Lois Anderson
GALLUP Graveside services for Lois V. Anderson,
85, will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Sunset Memorial Park. Pastor Gene
Turk will officiate.
Viewing will be 9 a.m.-noon. Friday, Nov. 3 at Rollie Mortuary.
Anderson died Sunday, Oct. 29 in Gallup. She was born Dec. 17, 1920,
in Cosocton, Ohio.
Anderson's hobbies include fishing, bird watching and playing cards.
Anderson was preceded in death by husband, Wheeler L. Anderson; father,
Albert William Ramsey; and mother, Treasa Leona Ramsey; sons, James
Lee Anderson and William Royce Anderson; brothers, Albert William Ramsey
and James Edward Ramsey.
Pallbearers will be Duane Anderson, William Barns, Harold Barns, Fred
Jonas, Jimmie Meadows and Phillip Meadows.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Melanie Burnside
GALLUP Services for Melanie Yenasbah Burnside,
22, were 10 a.m. Oct. 27 at Ganado Presbyterian Church. Custer Lowe
Jr. officiated. Burial followed at Ganado Cemetery.
Burnside died Oct. 22 in Gallup. She was born Aug. 28, 1984, in Gallup
into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Burnside attended St. Michaels Special Ed, Jefferson Elementary and
Kennedy Middle School.
Survivors include parents, Melvin Burnside and Geraldine Curley; brother,
Ryan Dixon; grandparents, Milton and Anna Burnside and Rosita Curley.
Pallbearers were Jason Curley, Derek Chosa, Tyson Curtis, Ryan Dixon,
Buddy Lynch and Tyrone Lynch.
Paul McCabe
TEMPE, Ariz. Services for Paul Alan McCabe
were 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 2 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic
Church in Chinle. Interment followed at Chinle Cemetery.
McCabe died Oct. 29 in Tempe.
McCabe graduated from Navajo Mission Academy and received a bachelor
of science in computer science engineering at ASU.
Survivors include sons, Kenneth McCabe and Matthew McCabe both of Mesa,
Ariz.; daughters, Camille McCabe and Nicole McCabe both of Mesa; brothers,
Dean Etsitty and Olin Etsitty; sisters, Eunice McCabe Lagrou and Regina
Etsitty.
McCabe was preceded in death by mother, Della Wallace McCabe and father,
Kenneth McCabe.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Martin Martinez
HAYSTACK Services for Martin M. Martinez, 96,
will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints in Grants. Bishop John Hazelwood will officiate. Burial will
follow at Grants Memorial Park. Military honors will be conducted by
VFW Post 3221.
Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 2 at Compassion Mortuary.
Martinez died Oct. 30 in Crownpoint. He was born Sept. 19, 1910, in
Pinedale.
Martinez was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in WWII as
a Navajo Code Talker.
Survivors include wife, Janice Martinez of Haystack; sons, Joe Martinez
of Thoreau, David Martinez of Mariano Lake, Michael Martinez of Crownpoint,
Lawrence Martinez of Farmington, Gomo Martinez of Lukachukai, Victor
Martinez of La Plata, N.M., Leland Martinez of Los Lunas and Fitsgerald
Martinez of Milan; daughters, Viola Nez of Kirtland, Patricia Jim of
Standing Rock, Verdie Bennett of Gamerco, Kay Martinez of Haystack,
Aquilla Martinez of Vanderwagen, Glennda Rangel of Haystack, Velma Kisto
of Thoreau, Relda Martinez of Haystack and Marjorie Salazar of Albuquerque;
brothers, Juan Martinez of San Mateo, Clarence Martinez of Smith Lake
and Johnny Martinez of Casamero Lake; sisters, Mora Montano of San Mateo,
Mae Lynch of Thoreau and Flora Dimentriou of Prewitt; 64 grandchildren
and 23 great-grandchildren.
Martinez was preceded in death by parents, Patricio "Paddy"
Martinez and Aahbah "Juana" Martinez; children, June Hogue,
Judy Martinez and Aronald Martinez; brothers, Julian Martinez, Roy Martinez
Sr., Henry Martinez, Gothlo Martinez, Leo Martinez and Raymond Martinez;
sisters, Mary Platero, Ethel Cheromiah, Nina Largo and Juanita Martinez.
Pallbearers will be Kysilka Martin Martinez, Brad Michael Begay, Todd
Ernest Rangel, Lucas Lawrence Hogue, Yoaran Ashinnie Nez and Kyerin
Benette.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
