Propane Explosion: Gallup firefighters make certain a trailer
doesn't have any hidden fires burning in it after a gas explosion behind
T&R Market Friday morning. A propane truck driver who was filling the
30,000-gallon tank at the market opened the wrong valve on his tanker
and vented propane gas toward the trailer. The gas collected next to the
trailer and was ignited by the pilot light on the water heater causing
an explosion. T&R employees used fire extinquishers and a garden hose
to put out the fire in the company trailer before any serious damage could
occur. No one was injured in the explosion or fire. [Photo by John A.
