John Nicoll

RAMAH — Services for John Ellis Nicoll, 62, were Monday, March 20 at the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ramah. Elder Spencer V. Jones and Bishop Kim Booth officiated. Burial followed after services.

Nicoll died March 17 in Ramah. He was born Sept. 14, 1943 in Ramah.

Nicoll graduated from Ramah High School and attended BYU Hawaii and BYU Provo. He was in the U.S. Army for two years and his hobbies included basketball, golf, making candy, collecting rocks and spending time with horses.

Survivors include is wife, Darla Nicoll; sons, John Edward Jones of Albuquerque, Sean Gregory Casteel of Los Alamos; daughters, Seana Lynn Schweitzrs of Prescott, Ariz., Sharmon Monique Nicoll of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; mother, Idelle Lewis Nicoll; brothers, Joseph Kent Nicoll and Joel Lehi Nicoll, both of Ramah; sisters, Carol LaDell Ansley, Anna Isobel Stradling and Tamzin Laureen Voyls, all of Ramah, and eight grandchildren.

Nicoll was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Nicoll.


Leonard Peterson

GALLUP Services for Leonard Andrew Peterson, 17 will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 25 at Cope Memorial Chapel in Gallup. Rev. Dennis Gardener will officiate. Burial will follow in the City Cemetery in Gallup.

Visitation will be Friday, March 24 5 to 8 p.m. at Cope Memorial.

Peterson died March 21 in Gallup. He was born Aug. 13, 1988 in Gallup.

He was attending UNM-Gallup. He enjoyed playing his guitar, listening to music, playing video games, skating and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his mother, Virginia Peterson of Gallup; brothers, Vernon Gray and Matthew Peterson, both of Gallup; sister, Starla Peterson of Gallup and grandmother, Grace Peterson of Gallup.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Joe Peterson Sr.

Pallbearers will be Vernon Gray, Matthew Peterson, Alexander Jim, Timothy Peterson, Joe Peterson Jr., and Clyde Peterson.

Thefamily will receive relatives and friends at Chee Dodge Elementary School after services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Pauline Schrimsher

GALLUP — Memorial services for Pauline E. Schrimsher, 70, will be 2-4 p.m., Saturday, March 25 at Sage Apartments, 110 Rudy Drive in the Recreation room. The family will receive visitors at that time.

Schrimsher died March 22 in Gallup. She was born Jan 3, 1936. She grew up and lived in Gallup for more than 36 years. She was a nurse at Rehoboth Hospital, a counselor for Battered Families and an associate at Howling Coyote Bookstore.

Survivors include her children John Schrimsher, Jeri Bolton, Kathy Weigl, all of Gallup; mother, Geraldine Soderstadt of Albuquerque' sisters, Mary Soderstadt of Los Lunas, Barbara Soderstadt-Coffman of Albuquerque and six grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father Paul Soderstadt; brothers, Gerald Soderstadt, Johnnie Soderstadt and Paul Soderstadt Jr., and one son Charlie Schrimsher.

Colby Shirley

TWIN LAKES — Services for Colby McCoy Shirley, 21 months, will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 25 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Jake Yazzie Sr., will officiate. Burial will follow at Gallup City Cemetery.

Shirley died March 20 in Albuquerque. He was born June 4, 2004 in Gallup into the Salt People Clan for the Red Running into the Water People Clan.

Survivors include his parents, Wilmer Shirley Sr., and Pherstephanie Begay, both of Twin Lakes; brothers, Lambert Shirley, Leander Shirley, Brandon Shirley and Kory Shirley, all of Twin Lakes, Wilmer Shirley Jr., of Mariano Lake and Christopher Jake of Bread Springs; sisters, Florence King of Gamerco and Tracey Begay of Breadsprings; grandparents Louise Becenti of Breadsprings and Stella Shirley of Twin Lakes.

Shirley was preceded in death by his grandfather Arthur Shirley, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Gary Bennett, Lambert Shirley, Christopher Jake and Kevin Smith. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Twin Lakes Chapter House following services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Lowery Johnson

SAWMILL, Ariz. — Services for Lowery Johnson, 32, will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 25 at Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament in Fort Defiance. Father Gilbert Schneider OFM will officiate. Burial will follow at a family plot in Sawmill.

Viewing will be one hour prior to services and a rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m., Friday, March 24, at Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Church.

Johnson died March 19 in Fort Defiance. He was born March 26, 1973 in Fort Defiance into the Mud People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.

Johnson graduated from Window Rock High School. He joined the U.S. Special Forces, and was awarded many ribbons and awards. In high school he lettered in football, baseball and wrestling.

Survivors include his sons, Larry Frank Johnson and Trent W. Johnson; parents, Lawrence Johnson and Patricia Johnson; brother, Lem Johnson; sisters, Lynn Johnson-Linbald and Laura Johnson-Nez.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lilliam M. Mitchell, Bert Graymountain Jr., and Frank Johnson.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Fort Defiance Chapter House after services.


Geneva Bosscher

REHOBOTH — A memorial service for Mrs. Geneva "Nip" Bosscher, 89, will be held 2 p.m.. Wednesday, March 29, at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church, with visiting after the service. Interment will be in Rehoboth Cemetery. Bosscher died March 22.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; her children, Rosemary (David) Daining of Pella, IA, Kathleen Bosscher of Zuni, NM, Douglas (Nancy) Bosscher of Lynden, Wash., Charles (Donna) Bosscher of Byron Center, Mich., Deborah (John) Rouwenhorst of Cypress, Calif; 15 grandchildren; four great grandchildren;

Memorial contributions may be given to the Zuni Christian Mission School or Rehoboth Christian School.

ALBUQUERQUE —  Graveside services for Nellie Peterman, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 27 at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque at the corner of Edith and Menaul Streets. Pastor Edward Shirley Jr., will officiate..

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 Monday at Cope Memorial Chapel in Gallup.

Peterman was born into the Red Running into the Water People Clan for the Red Bottom People Clan.

Peterman was retired after 25 years at Fort Wingate High School. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, visiting with friends and traveling.

Survivors include her sons, Eugene Peterman of Red Rock, N.M.,Wars Peterman of Farmington, Pete Peterman of Church Rock; daughters, Winona Shirley of Rock Springs, N.M. and Pam Peterman of Twin Lakes; brothers, Robert Shorty and Willie Cadman' sisters, Caroly Williams, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Peterman was preceded in death by her husband Joseph John Peterman and sister Violet Charles; parents, Tom and Nettie Shorty.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Peterman, Thoer Peterman, Sawyer Peterman, Forrest Peterman, Nicholes Peterman and Eugene Peterman.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque.
