Olga Baird

GALLUP — Servies for Olga N. Baird, 92, will be at 1 p.m., Friday, March 24 at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel. Rev. H. Eugene Myrick will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gallup.

Baird died March 21. She was born June 25, 1913 in Raton, N.M.

She graduated from Cathedral High School in Gallup. She was a charter member of the Gallup Soroptomist Club and co-owner of Gallup Lumber.

Survivors include her daughters Leigh Kauzlarich of Gallup and Roberta Stauder of Continental Divide, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Baird was preceded in death by her husband Gene Baird; parents, John Novak and Julia Nobak; brother Albert Novak; sisters, Julia Novak and Mary Tamony.

Pallbearers will be Gallup Lumber employees Manuel Gonzales, John Kennedy Jr., Robert Marinsek, Robert Tatsukawa, Jim Watkins and Hugh Williams.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Mary Jenkins

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Graveside services for Mary Jenkins, 81, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 24 at Sunset Memorial Park in Gallup. Pastor Gene Turk will officiate.

Jenkins died March 18 in Hot Springs, Ark. She was born June 19, 1924 in Jessie Ville, Ark.

Jenkins was formerly of Gallup. Suvivors include her son, Michael Jenkins of Gallup and her brother Henry Earl Casey.

Pallbearers will be James B. Baumgardner, Michael Jenkins, David Martinez, Michael Overa, Sanson Sanchez and Gene Turk.


Josephine Sharp

GRANTS — Services for Josephine V. Sharp. 64, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24 at St. Teresa de Avila in Grants. Rev. Matthew Keller will officate. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Cemetery.

A rosary will be at 7 p.m., today, March 23 at St. Teresa de Avila in Grants

Sharp died March 20 in Albuquerque. She was born Dec. 1, 1941 in Grants.

Survivors include her family Raymond Padilla of Grants, Isabel Love of Phoeniz., George Padilla of Los Lunas, Epimenio Padilla of Grants, Yoland Sena of Grants.

Sharp was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Sharp and her parents, Ramon and Ascension Padilla.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Padilla, George Padilla, Eppie Padilla, Steve Sena, Lloyd Love, Perfilio Padilla, Joseph Padilla, Aaron Love, Jackie Sanchez and Stephen Hands.


Angela Ashley

BURNTWATER, Ariz. — Services for Angela Ashley, Nade'zb, 101, will be at 10 a.m., today, March 23 at the Houck Catholic Church. Fr. Cormac, OFM will officiate. Burial will follow at the family plot, east of her residence, north of Burntwater Junction. There will be a sign at the turnoff to the burial site.

Ashley died March 20 in Winslow. She was born Oct. 1905 near Bisdadesci, 9 miles northwest of Houck into the Cahrcoal Streadked Division of the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Black Sheep People Clan.

Ashley went to St. Michaels Catholic School from 1916 to 1923. She was a Navajo rug weaver and enjoyed taking care of livestock and cooking. She worked during her life to establish the legalization of the use of peyote medicine on Navajoland and the Native American Church. She traveled around the U.S. and Mexico, was mentioned in one of the Tony Hillerman books and mentioned in a German publication by Ben Kienast of Austria.

Survivors include her sons, Tom Joe Ashley of Burntwater, Pat Joe Ashley of Chinle, Austin Sam of Burntwater and Jerry Sam of Church Rock; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.


Louise Clark

CARLSBAD, N.M. — Graveside services for Louise Clark, 78, will be 11 A.m., Saturday at Grants Memorial Cemetery.

Clark died March 14 in Carlsbad. She was born Feb. 20, 1928


Leonard Peterson

GALLUP — Services for Leonard Andrew Peterson, 17, will be from 5-8 p.m. at Cope Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 24.

Peterson died March 21 in Gallup. He was born Aug. 13, 1988 in Gallup.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.


Pauline Schrimsher

GALLUP — Services for Pauline E. Schrimsher, 70 will be announced at a later date.

Schrimsher died March 22 in Gallup. She was born Jan. 3, 1936.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Theodore Jaramillo

GALLUP — Services for Theodore "Teddy" Jaramillo, 66, will be announced at a later date.

Jaramillo died March 22 in Gallup. He was born May 16, 1939 in Grants.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
