FARMINGTON The fighting was supposed to remain on
the show when two men were watching "Ultimate Fighting" on television
but an argument led to one of the men being stabbed on Wednesday evening.
Travis Mustache, 20, of Shiprock was arrested and charged with aggravated
battery for stabbing his uncle, Donovan Yellowhair, 30, of Farmington
when an argument concerning the show allegedly escalated to Mustache stabbing
Yellowhair in the leg with a kitchen knife.
Police arrived at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening at a home in Farmington
to find a man wearing only his underwear and covered with blood, most
of it coming from his left leg.
According to reports, Yellowhair's girlfriend stated that Mustache came
to the house near 7 p.m. and looked like he had been drinking alcohol.
Soon Yellowhair and Mustache began drinking and were arguing about the
"Ultimate Fighting" show they were watching when Mustache allegedly
attacked Yellowhair.
Mustache chased Yellowhair through the trailer, which is when Yellowhair's
girlfriend claimed that Yellowhair told her that he'd been stabbed. Yellowhair's
girlfriend then told police that she had seen Mustache leaving with the
knife that he had used to stab Yellowhair.
When Farmington Police arrived on the scene, they found blood in the kitchen,
in the hallway leading to the kitchen and close to a washer and dryer
in the kitchen.
Yellowhair told authorities that he had been attacked by Mustache, it
was Mustache that claimed that he had been attacked when Mustache took
a swing at him and he blocked the punch. Yellowhair supposedly took Mustache
to the ground and he was stabbed in the leg by Mustache. But Mustache
claimed that he stabbed Yellowhair in self defense.
Mustache is being held for aggravated battery against a household member
as well as two prior outstanding warrants.
