Kitty Louise Newton
MILAN Services for Kitty L. Newton, 63, will be at 1 p.m., Thursday,
July 27 at Compassion Mortuary. Pastor Garland Moore will officiate.
Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park.
Newton died July 23 in Milan. She was born April 12, 1943 in Monroe,
N.C.
Survivors include her children, Nieta Smith of Milan; David Newton of
Grants, and Guy Irwin of Alpine, Calif.; brother, Larry Gilmer of Carlsbad;
and eight grandchildren.
Newton was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Margaret Banta
Gilmer.
Pallbearers will be David Newton, Guy Newton, Jerry Smith, Tom Newton,
Max Baros, Victor Neito, Larry Roberds and Larry Gilmer.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Eleanor Helen Etsate
ZUNI Services for Eleanor H. Etsate, 62, will be Thursday, July
27 at St. Mary Mission, Tohatchi. Father John Mittelstadt, O.F.M. will
officate. Burial will follow at Naschitti Community Cemetery.
Etsate died July 24 in Gallup. She was born April 21, 1944 in Naschitti
into the Salt People Clan for the Near to Water People Clan.
Survivors include her husband, Jose Etsate of Zuni; son, Anson Denetdale
of Twin Lakes; daughter, Ruthana Denetdale of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren;
and four grandchildren.
Etsate was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mae Wood; sons,
Barthelemoew Denetdale and Davis White; brothers, Jasper Wood, Larry
Wood and Peterson Wood.
Pallbearers will be Anson Denetdale, John Henry, Shannon Henry, Robbie
Lowe; Danny Ramone and Gary Wood.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Anthony D. Fernandez
GALLUP Anthony D. Fernandez, 23, died July 22. He was born April
1, 1983 in Portland, Ore.
Fernandez attended French Prairie Middle School, Woodburn High School,
Oregon before moving to Gallup. He attended University of New Mexico,
Albuquerque, where he was honor student. He was working on a photography
project with Patrick Nagatani.
Survivors include his parents, Antonio Fernandez and Rita Saucedo-Fernandez
of Arizona; brothers, Jose Antonio Fernandez and Juan Carlos Fernandez
of Woodburn, Ore. and birth mother, Leilah Wilcox of Portland, Ore.
Jane Grinslade
LAS VEGAS, Nev. Services for Jane Grinslade, 87, will be at
1 p.m., Saturday, July 29, in the chapel at Sunset Memorial Park. Dr.
Charles Cullen will officiate.
Grinslade died July 17 in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born on Feb. 16, 1919
in Joplin, Mo.
Grinslade is survived by her three daughters, Betsy Grinslade, Kay Grinslade
Padgham and Margaret Courington.
Grinslade was preceded in death by her husband, long-time area coach
Al Grinslade.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
