Claudio J. Baca
GRANTS Funeral services for Claudio J. Baca, 76 was at today
at 10 a.m. at the San Mateo Catholic Church Visitation and Holy Rosary
Meditation was at Monday evening at the Mission San Mateo Catholic Church.
Father Mathew Keller officiated. Graveside services and interment followed
at San Mateo Cemetery.
Baca died on Jan. 28 in San Mateo. He was born on August 04, 1929 in
San Mateo. He was a longtime resident of the area and a member of the
San Mateo Catholic Church. Most of his life he as a uranium miner. He
took pleasure in being outdoors, hunting, pinon picking and fishing.
Survivors include his sons, Rudy and David Baca, both of San Mateo;
sisters, Ellen Saavedra, Mary Baca, and Christine Baca all of San Mateo;
sister, Josephine Dixon of Gilbert, Ariz.; ten grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren.
Baca was proceded in death by his wife Margarite Baca and his parents
Jose Manuel Baca and Albina Jaramillo Baca.Pallbearers will be Tessa
Baca, Alyssa Baca, Abryha Baca, Damien Baca, Kayla Dixon, and Dominique
Flores.
The family received relatives and friends at the San Mateo Volunteer
Fire Department.
Grants Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
George W. Detorie, Jr.
ALBUQUERQUE Memorial services for George W. Detorie, Jr., 50
will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 4 p.m. at French's Morturary in
Albuquerque. Mass for Detorie will be at UNM Newman Center on Wednesday.
Detorie died on January 27 in Albuquerque. He earned his MBA at the
University of New Mexico. Detorie worked for the Atlantic Richfield
Company in Denver. He was also the director of the Book Alliance Program
for the New Mexico Dept. of Corrections in Albuquerque for most of his
career. Detorie was an avid reader, fisherman, and very athletic.
Survivors include his son Dusty Detorie of Albuquerque; mother Pamela
Detorie of Albuquerque; brothers, Daniel Detorie of San Francisco, Calif.,
and Nicholas Detorie of Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Deborah Detorie and
Carolyn Ehlert both of Albuquerque, Pamela Geatz of Minneapolis, MN.
Detorie was preceded in death by his father George W. Detorie of Gallup;
grandparents, Nicholas and Caroline Detorie and Clifton and Clara Shaver.
Donations may be made to the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico
in Albuquerque.
Thomas John Noonen
GALLUP Funeral services for Thomas John Noonen, 87, will be
today, Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Rev. Lawrence
J. O'Keefe will officiate. Rosary was held Monday evening at 7 p.m.
Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
Noonen died on Thursday, Jan. 26 in Albuquerque. He was born on May
26, 1918 in Las Vegas, NM. Noonen attended Regis High School in Denver.
He moved to Gallup in the early 1930's. Noonen was employed with the
Sante Fe Railroad for over 40 years and was a member of the United Transportation
Union for 50 years.
Survivors include his sons, Joe Noonen, John R. Noonen, and Tim Noonen
all of Gallup; daughters, Theo Judith Sanchez and Joyce Simmons both
of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Noonen was preceded in death by his wife, Theo Noonen; parents, Mike
and Dora Noonen; son, Mike Earl Noonen; and sister, Mary Burke.
Pallbearers will be Dick Farrow; Bryan Noonen; Jason Noonen; Sean Noonen;
Ted Sanchez; Sid Simmons; and Robert Thomas. A reception will be at
the Sacred Heart Cathefral Family Center following the burial services.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
