Elsie Tsosie
WHIPPOORWILL, Ariz. Funeral Services for Elsie Harvey Tsosie,
73, will be held a t 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Lords Church
in Whippoorwill. Burial will be on the family plot.
Tsosie died Jan. 23 in Phoenix. She was born Dec. 13, 1932 in Whippoorwill
into the Towering House People Clan for the Bitterwater People Clan.
Survivors include her sons, Leonard, Earl and Raymond Tsosie; Leslie
and Eddie Tsosie; daughter, Nancy Ann Joe; brothers, Jimmy Yazzie and
Tom Harvey; sisters, Julia Tsosie and Helen Begay; 19 grandchildren
and 43 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Whippoorwill Chapter.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Fred Tahe
MEXICAN SPRINGS Funeral services for Fred Tahe, 87, will
be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Christian Reform Church
in Tohatchi. Bobby Boyd will officiate. Burial will be at the Lone Pine
Cemetary in Mexican Springs.
Tahe died on Jan. 24 in Gallup. He was born on April 15, 1918 in Mexican
Springs into the Black Streak of Forest People into the Hairy People
Clan.
Tahe was employed with the Conservation Corps for the government, working
on land and animal management; Fort Wingate Ordinance Depot, as a munitions
handler; El Paso Gas Company; Santa Fe/Topeka Railroad Company; Bureau
of Indian Afffairs on the Navajo Nation; last employment was at the
Shalimar Inn as a maintenance man. He retired in December 1982. After
retiring he worked around the family homestead and tended to livestock.
Survivors include his wife Elsie Tahe; sons, Frederick and Fredolf Tahe,
both of Mexican Springs; daughters, Esther and Treva Tahe, both of Mexican
Springs; and one grandchild.
Tahe was proceeded in death by his father Hosteen Tahe; mother, Glen
Yil Nana Bah; brother, Edward Tahe; sisters, Sadie Johnson, Mary Watchman,
Ruth N. Tahe, and Dorothy Shirley; daughter, Katherine June Willeto.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Mexican Springs
Chapter House.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Chauncey Neboyia
BLACK ROCK, Ariz. Funeral services for Chauncey M. Neboyia,
103, will be today, Friday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. in Black Rock. Burial
will be held in Black Rock.
Neboyia died on Jan. 21 in Chinle. He was born March 6, 1903 in Canyon
Del Muerto into the Water Flows Together People Clan for the Salt People
Clan.
Neboyia attended grammar school at the Fort Apache Boarding School.
He has worked for 62 years with the National Park Services as an archeologist
excavator's assistant, consultant-interpreter, tour guide and a narrator
for a film production companies.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy Y. Neboyia; sons, Thomas Neboyia
of Chinle and Bobby Neboyia of North Hollywood, Calif.; daughters, Alice
Anagal and Priscilla Neboyia, both of Chinle, Helen Yazzie of Pinon;
44 grandchildren, 104 great grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren.
Neboyia was preceded in death by his parents Yellow Mustache Begay Sr.
and Asah Bah Begay; brothers, Yellow Mustache II, Jack, Freddie, Morris
Draper, William Draper and Notah Draper; sisters, Ason Ben, Adele Thompson,
and Mildred Yazzie; daughter Mary Staley; two grandsons, and one great
grandchild.
Pallbearers will be the Twin Warrior Society (Veterans group) from Fort
Defiance.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Alice M. Anagal's residence
in Chinle.

SGT. Clifton Yazzie
FRUITLAND Funeral services for SGT. Clifton J. Yazzie, 23, will
be on Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Farmington Civic Center. Viewing will
be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Brewer, Lee & Larkin located on
103 E. Ute, Farmington. Interment will be at the Greenlawn Cemetery
in Farmington.
Yazzie died on Jan. 20 in Iraq while serving his second tour of duty
with the 327th Infantry 101st Airborne. Yazzie was born into the Mud
People Clan for the Zuni Clan. His maternal grandfather is of the Red
running into the Water and his paternal grandfather is of the Salt People
Clan.
Yazzie was a graduate of Kirtland Central High School in 2001. He enlisted
in the military in November of 2001 and completed basic training in
April of 2002 at the Fort Benning, Ga. He did re-enlist in July of 2005
and was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky before being deployed to
Iraq on his second tour in September 2005.
Survivors include his wife Michelle Yazzie; daughter, Chynitta Yazzie;
son, Cayden Yazzie, all of Hogback; parents, Clifford and Jeanette Yazzie
of Fruitland; brothers, Clinton Yazzie of Fruitland and Rawn Yazzie
of Shiprock; sisters Shannon Bedonie of Phoenix, Rhea Bedonie of Fruitland,
Angelita and Kelly Clark of Shiprock; great grandmother, Alice Barber
and grandmother Jessie Johnson.
Yazzie was proceeded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jay Yazzie,
Sr.; grandparents, Charles and Rena Bekis and Jones Johnson;
Leo Johnson
TOLAKAI Services for Leo Jay Johnson, 65, will be at 10 a.m.,
Saturday, Jan. 28 at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel. Brother Dennis Gardner
will officiate. Interment will follow at Gallup City Cemetery in Gallup.
Johnson died Jan. 18 in Glendale, Ariz. He was born May 5, 1940 in Tohlakai
into the Edge Water People Clan for the Mexican People Clan.
Survivors include his brother, Sammy R. Johnson of Tohlakai; sisters,
Angie Henry of Farmington and Jeannie Rivera of Glendale, 28 grandchildren
and one great-grandchild. No children were listed as survivors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Johnson, Alice B. Johnson;
brothers, David Johnson, Freddie Johnson, Wilson Johnson; sister, Elenor
Ginger Shorty, and grandparents, Akeenabah Howe and Billie Howe.
Pallbearers will be Garrick Gruber, Alroy Johnson, Darrel Johnson, Erick
Johnson, Tina Johnson and Donald Yardly.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Wilbert Anderson
BLOOMFIELD Services for Wilbert Anderson, 62, will be announced
at a later date. Anderson died Jan. 26 in Bloomfield. He was born June
10, 1943 . Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Thomas Noonen
GALLUP Services for Thomas John Noonen, 87, will be announced
at a later date.
Noonen died Jan 26 in Albuquerque. He was born May 26, 1918 in Las Vegas,
