Former Boys & Girls Club director could have his probation revoked

GALLUP — A 48-year-old former director of the Boys and Girls Club allegedly violated his terms of probation by stalking a 19-year-old former employee, despite a court imposed order to leave her alone.

William Hoedebeck, of the 300 block of West Wilson, pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment for repeatedly calling the woman's cell phone and driving by her Gallup residence between Aug. 8 and Aug. 26, 2005.

He and the woman were employees of the organization. Hoedebeck continued to initiate interaction between he and the woman after he discontinued his employment with the local chapter of the Boys and Girls Club.

"He said he hoped she would lose her job," according to an affidavit for arrest filed in magistrate court.

Hoedebeck's 364 day prison sentence was suspended and replaced with 364 days of unsupervised probation, as a condition of the plea and disposition agreement. He was also ordered to stay away from the woman and her residence at the Orleans Apartments. However, Assistant District Attorney Bernadine Martin filed a motion to revoke Hoedebeck's probation on Dec. 28 after the woman reported Hoedebeck drove by her parents' home.

"The defendant lives in North Gallup and had no purpose in the vicinity of the victim's parents' home other than to stalk the victim," according to a motion to revoke Hoedebeck's probation.

Martin also requested Hoedebeck's supervised probation be revoked and replaced with a term of 364 days in prison.

The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for Jan. 24.
