Marion E. Zonnis

ALBUQUERQUE — Funeral services for Marion E. Zonnis, MD, 95, will be on Sunday, February 12 at The Old San Ysidro Church in Corrales, New Mexico.

Zonnis died February 2 in Albuquerque. She was native of St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Washington University Medical School in 1936. She was in private psychiatry practice in both Los Angeles and Palm Springs, California for many years before starting her second career at age 62. Zonnis was head of Mental Health section of the Indian Health Service for the next 20 years, based in and near Window Rock, Ariz. Her work took her through Indian Country.Survivors include her daughter, Cara Montgomery of Palm Beach, Florida and one grandson.

In lieu of flowers, dontaions may be made to Oxfam International in the name of Marian E. Zonnis, MD.

Nellie C. Yazzie

PINEDALE — Funeral services for Nellie C. Yazzie, 49 of Pinedale, are pending and will be announced at a later date.

Yazzie died on Monday, Feb. 6 in Albuquerque. She was born on April 22, 1956 in Gallup into the Black Streak People Clan for the Mountain Cove People Clan.

A family meeting will be today, Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. at the Pinedale Chapter House.
