Mary Matt

LUPTON, Ariz. — Funeral services for Mary Jim Slim Matt, 81, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006 at St. John the Evangelist. Father Cormac Antram, OFM, will officiate. Interment will be at Houck Cemetery, Houck, Ariz.
Matt died Wednesday, Dec. 20 in Camp Verde, Ariz. She was born on April 4, 1925 in Lupton.

Matt enjoyed weaving, herding sheep and quilting. Her most enjoyable activites were being around her grandchildren and playing cards.

Matt is survived by her sons, Alex Matt of Wide Ruins, Ariz. and Peter Matt of Lupton; daughters, Marie Gaddy and Lisa Matt of Lupton, Elsie Chischilly of Oak Springs, Ariz.; brother, Fred Slim; 30 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Matt was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Matt; father, Jim Slim; mother, Kaybah Slim; son, Junior Matt; daughters, Esther Billy and Dorothy Matt.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Hugh Toledo

PINON, Ariz. — Funeral services for Hugh Toledo, 57, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27 at the First Navajo Baptist Church in Crownpoint, N.M. George Jim will officiate. Interment will be at the family plot in Lake Valley, N.M.

Toledo died Tuesday, Dec. 19 in Tucson, Ariz. He was born August 10, 1949 in Crownpoint into the Water Flows Together People Clan and for the Sleepy Rock People Clan.

Toledo graduated from Crownpoint High School. He went to trade schools in Dallas and Phoenix. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad. His hobbies were visiting with family and friends and meeting new people. He also enjoyed football and listening to music.

Toledo is survived by his wife, Bernice Toledo of Pinon; sons, Kyle Toledo of Pinon and Timothy Tom of Tempe, Ariz.; daughters, Natalie Hailstorm and Leoria Toledo, both of Flagstaff; brothers, Bennie Toledo of Tohlakai, N.M., Max Toledo of Bloomfield, N.M., Daniel Toledo, Larry Toledo and Danny Toledo; sisters, Virginia Toledo and Rhody Toledo, both of Crownpoint, Elouise Toledo, Evelena Toledo and Ella Mae Toledo.

Toledo was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Pablo, and his father, Dan Toledo.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Tom Toledo, Timothy Tom, Kendric Hailstorm, Max Toledo Sr., Daniel Toledo and Larry Toledo.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Lake Valley Chapter House.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Ella Mike

BREADSPRINGS, N.M. — Funeral services for Ella (Bah) Mike, 73, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27 at Rollie Mortuary. Evangelist A. J. Williams will officiate. Interment will be on family land in Breadsprings.

Mike died on Friday, Dec. 22, in Gallup. She was born on Dec. 15, 1933 in Breadsprings into the Red Running into Water People Clan and for the Towering House People Clan.

Mike was preceded in death by her father, Navajo Mike; mother, Ake Nez Bah Mike; sister, Annie Joe Mike Willie.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Martinez, Darryl Todachine, Phillip Lee, Bobby Whitehorse, Bob Davis and Bryant Willie.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
