LaMona Manuelito
DALTON PASS Services for LaMona L. Manuelito,
39, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Christian Reform Church
in Crownpoint. Bobby Arviso will officiate. Burial will follow
at Crownpoint.
Manuelito died Nov. 21 in Albuquerque into the Bitter Water People
Clan for Towering House People Clan.
Manuelito graduated from Wingate High School, went to SIPI in
Albuquerque, and studied Culinary Arts at CIT in Crownpoint. She
was employed with the Indian Health Services for nine years, was
a school board member for BIA schools for six years and Department
of Behavior Services for three years. Her hobbies include silversmithing,
beadwork, drawing, listening to gospel music, being outdoors,
traveling, arts and crafts.
Survivors include sons, Hamiliton H. Manuelito and Hamiliton B.
Manuelito, both of Iyanbito; daughters, Leona Manuelito of Flagstaff
and LeAnna I. Manuelito of Iyanbito; brothers, Henry Morgan of
Torreon, N.M., David Morgan of Crownpoint and Willis Morgan of
Safford, Ariz.; sisters, Nellie Brown of Crownpoint, Veronica
Kenny of Dalton Pass and Janice Benally of Dalton Pass.
Manuelito was preceded in death by her father, Karl K. Morgan,
mother, Nettie K. Morgan, son, Harrington Manuelito and brother,
Delbert Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Hamiliton Manuelito, Leona Manuelito, Verona
Saganex, Andrew Benally, Jr., Rex Benally and Jerome Thompson.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Nahodishgish
Chapter House after services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
David Hale
FORT DEFIANCE Services for David Edward
Hale, 61, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11 at Mary, Mother of Mankind
Catholic Church in St. Michaels. Father Ron Walters will officiate.
Burial will follow at St. Michaels Community Cemetery.
Hale died Dec. 6 in Fort Defiance. He was born July 1, 1945 in
Fort Defiance into the Salt Water People Clan for the Towering
House People Clan.
Hale attended Phoenix Indian School and Window Rock High School.
He raised and cared for his sheep. His hobbies include listening
to music while he was with his livestock.
Survivors include brothers, Henry A. Hale, James T. Hale, Vernon
Hale, Sr., Frank K. Hale, Jr. and Joe Hale; sisters, Evelyn Hale,
Ethel Julia Roanhorse, Mary Ruiz, Jeanette Hale-Begay and Aileen
Hale-Chee.
Hale was preceded in death by his parents, Frank K. Hale, Sr.
and Aha-des-bah Hale.
Pallbearers will be Soloman Yellowhorse, Scottman Hale, Elvin
Roanhorse, Darby Hale, Fernando Roanhorse and Jeffrey Roanhorse.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Mary's Parish
Hall in St. Michaels after services.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Juanita Healing
POLACCA, Ariz. Traditional services for
Juanita Healing, 90, will be today, Dec. 9 at the family residence
in Tewa Village, Ariz. Burial will follow at the Tewa Village
Cemetery.
Visitation will also be today, Dec. 9 in the morning, prior to
services.
Healing died Dec. 6 in Phoenix. She was born May 15, 1916 in Polacca.
Healing retired as a cook for the BIA at Polacca Day School. She
was a pottery maker and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Healing is survived by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dewey Healing; parents
Albert and Iva Yava; sisters Patricia Honie and Sara Yava.
Andrew Nez
RABBITT BRUSH, N.M. Services for Andrew
"Andy" Nez, 41, will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 11
at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Fort Defiance. Father
Gilbert Schneider, OFM, will officiate. Burial will follow in
the family plot in Blue Canyon, Ariz.
Services will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Nez died Dec. 6 in Rabbitt Brush. He was born July 13, 1965 in
Fort Defiance into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Red Bottom
People Clan.
He attended Tuba City High School. He worked with Flagstaff Roofing
and at various other job sites. His hobbies included going to
Bingo and playing basketball with his sons.
Survivors include his wife Geraldine H. Nez of Rabbitt Brush;
sons, Rodney Nez, Ryan Nez, Randy Nez, Andy Nez, all of Rabbitt
Brush; daughters, Nancy Nez and Shirlene Nez, both of Leupp, Ariz.;
parents Juliua and Margaret Nez, both of Blue Canyon; brothers,
Justin Nez, Jackson Nez, Michael Nez and Buddy Nez, all of Blue
Canyon; sisters, Judy Nez of Leupp, April Hale of Blue Canyon.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Bessie Nez and Ella Nez.
Pallbearers will be Jackson Nez, Justin Nez, Michael Nez, Albert
Tom, Peterson Billie and Phillip Wauneka.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Fort Defiance
Chapter House after services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Theresa Petroleti
GRANTS Services for Theresa Murdock "Tiny
Terry" Petroleti will be announced at a later time.
Petroleti died Dec. 7 in Grants. She was born June 28, 1933.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
