Henry Begay Sr.
MARIANO LAKE Services for, Henry P. Begay, Sr., 72, will be
10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 1 at Rollie Mortuary. Pastor Tulley H. Lee will
officiate. Burial will follow at Rehoboth Mission Cemetery.
Begay died Aug. 28, in Bloomfield. He was born April 13, 1934, in Mariano
Lake into the Deer Spring People Clan for the Salt People Clan.
Begay attended Mariano Lake School and Riverside Indian School in California.
He was in the Army during the Korean conflict and retired after 34 years
as a federal employee for Mariano Lake Community School. He was also
a former Mariano Lake chapter official. He was a rancher and his hobbies
included silversmithing, storytelling and being with family.
Survivors include sons, Donald R. Begay of Bloomfield, Henry P. Begay,
Jr., of Phoenix, Paddy R. Begay of Bloomfield; daughters, Michelle Begay
of Albuquerque, Verna Begay of Mariano Lake, Eleanor Brown and Gloria
B. Ruth, both of Bloomfield; brothers, David L. Begay and Thomas C.
Begaye, both of Mariano Lake; sisters Emma B. Anderson and Maggie B.
Billie, both of Mariano Lake; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Begay was preceded in death by his wife Louise T. Begay; parents Bryan
Begay and Martha Begay; sisters, Nellie Barbone and Jennie Tom.
Pallbearers will be Donald R. Begay, Kelsey W. Begay, Paddy R. Begay,
Henry P. Begay, Jr., Eddie E. Brown and Sheldon Cowboy.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Bill Willoughby
MILAN Funeral Mass for, Bill H. Willoughby, 92, was at 10 a.m.,
Wednesday, Aug. 30, at St. Vivian's Catholic Church. Father Michael
Kugler officiated. Interment and graveside services followed at Grants
Memorial Park. Visitation was from 3-7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Grants
Mortuary. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 28 at Grants
Mortuary.
Willoughby died Aug. 27 in Albuquerque. He was born Oct. 27, 1913 in
Jellico, Tenn.
Willoughby moved to New Mexico in 1974 and a member of the St. Vivian
Catholic Church. He is retired bread man for Southern Bakeries. His
hobby was gardening.
Survivors include wife, Gertrude McFarland-Willoughby of Milan; son,
William "Bud" Willoughby of Milan; daughter, Anne Mathis of
Milan; brother, Claude Willoughby of Hialeah, Fla., six grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grandeville Willoughby and
Mary Baird-Willoughby.
Pallbearers were Michael Brodd, Jeffrey Simpson, Patrick Mathis and
Andrew Mathis.
Grants Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Billy Wood
RAMAH Services for Billy Clinton Wood, 37, will be at 1 p.m.,
Friday, Sept. 1 in Grants, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints. Bishop John Hazlewood will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., today, Aug. 31, at Grants Mortuary
and Friday, Sept. 1, 11- 12:30 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints in Grants. Interment and graveside will follow at
Grants Memorial Park.
Wood died Saturday, Aug. 26, in Albuquerque. He was born Oct. 10, 1968
in Phoenix.
Wood was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He was employed as a laborer with the heavy maintenance crew at the
New Mexico Department of Transportation. He was a member of Professional
Rodeo Cowboy's Association.
Survivors include parents, Clint Wood and Caroline Martha-Wood; brothers,
Tom Wood of Gallup and Tim Wood of Mateca, Calif.; sister, Callie Gurule
of Grants and grandparent, Frances Wood, Jr.
Wood was preceded in death by his grandparents Bill Wood; and grandparents
Tom and Dorothy Green.
Pallbearers will be Lester Johnston, Jimmy Woods, Albino Gallegos, John
Council, Mike Strange and Phillip Danzl.
Marilyn Largo
CROWNPOINT Services for Marilyn Rose Largo, 63, will be at 10
a.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at Tsin'neez'chooz. Evangelist Mike Lee will officiate.
Burial will follow at family land.
Largo died Friday, Aug. 25 in Albuquerque. She was born June 12, 1943
in Fort Defiance, into the Two Who Came To Water People Clan for the
Red Running Into Water People Clan.
Her hobbies include silversmithing, rug weaving and being with her family.
Survivors include sons, Daniel Morgan of Crownpoint, Darrell Morgan
and Davy Morgan both of Farmington; brothers, Ashley Henry of Becenti
and George Henry, Jr., of Crownpoint; sisters, Ruby Benally of Farmington,
JoAnn Henry of Crownpoint, Marie Henry of Tuba City, Shirley Henry of
Church Rock, Rosita Jim of Pueblo Pintado, 12 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
Largo was preceded in death by her parents George Henry, Sr. and Ann
Charley.
Pallbearers will be Max Largo, Jr., Alberto Morgan, Dennis Morgan, Emaniel
Morgan, Gerrando Morgan, Joshea Morgan and Nathaniel Morgan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Lawrence Teller
FORT DEFIANCE A rosary will be recited for Lawrence Teller,
58, at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at Rollie Mortuary. Services will be announced
at a later date.
Teller died Wednesday, Aug. 30, in Gallup. He was born March 25, 1948
in Fort Defiance into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the One Walks
Around People Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Benally
NASCHITTI Services for Mary H. Benally, 105, will be announced
at a later date.
Benally died Aug. 30 in Gallup. She was born Jan. 6, 1901 in Naschitti.
