Gloria Ann Gilbert

ALBUQUERQUE — Services for Gloria Ann Gilbert, 42, will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22 at Joshua Generation for Jesus. Pastor Dennis Gallegos will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., today at Rollie Mortuary.

Gilbert died Aug. 16 in Gallup. She was born Aug. 18, 1963 into the Towering House People Clan for the One Who Walks Around People Clan.

Gilbert was a homemaker and a very supportive mother for her children in sports activities. Gloria was employed with Blue Shield prior to her illness and also PNM in Albuquerque. Her hobbies included basketball, volleyball and bingo.

Survivors include her parents, Leita and Roland Gordon both of Gallup; sons, Emmanuel Julius Gilbert Jr. and Eric Jordon Gilbert both of Albuquerque; daughters, Erika Joy Gilbert and Nicole T. Shack both of Albuquerque; brothers, Leland Benally of Albuquerque and Michael Gordon and James Silversmith Jr., both of Gallup; sisters, Barbara Jean Silversmith of Albuquerque, Natalie Gordon and Marilyn Thompson, both of Gallup; and grandparents, Genevieve and Frank Benally Sr. of Tohatchi and Mary Matt of Houck, Ariz.

Gilbert was preceded in death by her husband, Emmanuel J. Gilbert; father, James Silversmith Sr.; and grandfather, Jimmie Silversmith.

Pallbearers will be Eric Gilbert, Emmanuel J. Gilbert Jr., Roland Gordon, Jason Silversmith, James Silversmith III, and James Silversmith Jr.

The family will receive friends and relatives after the burial services at Knights of Columbus Hall.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Rhoana L. Spencer

BLUEWATER VILLAGE — Services for Rhoana L. Spencer, 80, were 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 19 at the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake, Grants. Bishop Henry Holmes officiated. Burial followed at Pioneer Memorial Cemetery, Bluewater Villiage.

Spencer died Aug. 15 in Bluewater Village. She was born Dec. 14, 1925 in Bluewater Village.

Survivors include her children, Danny Spencer of Milan, David Spencer of Grants, and Michael Spencer of Bluewater, Phillip Spencer, Ray Spencer, Stephen Spencer, Stanley Spencer, Van Spencer all of Bluewater Village.

Spencer was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dick Spencer Sr.; son, Richard Dick Spencer Jr.; and parents, Amos and Lorena Cluf Tietjen.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Dorothy Marie Carwile

GRANTS — Services for Dorothy M. Carwile, 94, will be 10:30 a.m., today, Monday, Aug. 21 at Grants Good Samaritan Nursing Center. Rev. Dale Srasson officiated. Burial will be scheduled at a later date at Fort Huachuca Cemetery, Fort Huachuca, Ariz.

Carwile died Aug. 18 in Grants. She was born Feb. 4, 1912 in Fork Ridge, Tenn.

Carwile was a member of the Green Valley Eposcopalian Church. She was a homemaker and worked as a cook serving military families.

Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Greene of Orcas, Wash.; sisters, Emma Lee Hunley of Narrogate, Tenn., Elsie Atterbery of Lakeport, Calif. and Elenor "Sandy" Howell of Little Rock, Ark.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Carwile was preceded in death by her husband, William Carwile; parents, Robert B. Poore and Virginia "Nettie" Gilley; son, Jack Trovillo; sister, Margaret Fuller; brothers, William G. Poore, James Poore and Ross Poore.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
