Mary Garcia

GRANTS — Services for Mary F. Garcia, 82, will be at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, South Highway 53, Grants. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., today, Aug. 18, at Compassion Mortuary.

Garcia died Aug. 13 in Albuquerque. She was born May 27, 1924 in Llano.

Garcia was employed with the State of Utah as a social worker.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur T. Garcia; children, Gilbert Gonzales, Helen Rufi, George Gonzales, Rudy Gonzales, Evelyn Valdez, Bobby Greigo, Steve Griego, Manuel Medina, Lorraine Gowens, Ronnie Gonzales and Darlene Bundy; 32 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Garcia was preceded in death by her parents, Abel Medina and Josefita Tafoya; son, Lawrence; and husbands, Cirilo Gonzales and Manuel Greigo.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Clara Ann Grey

MARIANO LAKE — Services for Clara Ann Grey, 54, were 10 a.m., today, Friday, Aug. 18 at Rollie Mortuary. Helen Charley officiated. Burial followed at the family plot.

Grey died Aug. 13 in Twin Lakes. She was born Oct. 10, 1951 in Gallup into the White Mountain Apache & Red Streak People Clan for the Edgewater People Clan.

Survivors include her brothers, Benny D. Grey and Herman T. Grey, both of Mariano Lake; sisters, Nancy L. Barney of Window Rock, Catherine Harry of Church Rock, June Washington of Gardenia, Calif., Rita G. Morgan and Alice G. Begay both of Mariano Lake.

Grey was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie Mae and Lem Grey.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Begay, Johnny Charlie, Lanard George, Nathan Harry, Johnny Hoskie and Shaniel Largo.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Earl C. Mescal

TOHLAKAI — Services for Earl C. Mescal, 87, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 19 at Sacred Heart Catherdal. Father O'Keefe will officiate. Burial will follow in Gallup.

Mescal died Aug. 16 in Fort Defiance, Ariz. He was born Feb. 22, 1919 in Whitehorse Lake Community into the Folded Arms People Clan for the Water's Edge People Clan.

Mescal went to school in Crownpoint. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1952. He was employed as a driver with Kimbell, Co. and Bubany Lumber. Earl was a roadman for the N.A.C.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Y. Mescal; sons Denny Shirley, Lindsey Mescal, Art Jim Mescal, Aaron Gene Mescal; daughters, Barbara J. Toledo, Laura J. Pablo, Melaine Begay, Carlene Orillie and Cyrilia Barnhill; 31 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Mescal was preceded in death by his parents, Chee Mescal and Atson ah nah gloeeh.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Gloria Ann Gilbert

ALBUQUERQUE — Services for Gloria Ann Gilbert, 42, will be announced at a later date.

Gilbert died Aug. 16 in Gallup. She was born Aug. 18, 1963 in Gallup into the Towering House People Clan for the One Who Walks Around People Clan.

A family gathering will be at 6 p.m., tonight at Tohatchi Chapter House.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
