Last day of school
GALLUP — The Gallup-McKinley County Schools has changed the last day of school to Friday, May 26. Due to a waiver granted by the NMPED and two snow days that were not used, the district is able to end the school year on May 26.


Coyote Canyon Chapter
COYOTE CANYON — The Coyote Canyon Chapter will sponsor a community clean-up on Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23. Trash bags will be available at the chapter. Please leave the bags of trash along side the road for pick up. A meal will be provided for those involved in the clean-up effort.

The Coyote Canyon will have a chapter meeting at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 23.


Veterans' meeting
FORT DEFIANCE — The Fort Defiance Agency Veterans Organization will hold a meeting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 23 at the Fort Defiance Chapter. All veterans are encouraged to attend, and a meal will be provided. Information: (928) 729-4010


Farm Board Meeting
CORNFIELDS — There will be a special Cornfields Farm Board meeting Tuesday, Apr. 25, 2006 to discuss the ownership of farm plots from lower Ganado area to Sunrise Springs. Information: (928) 755-5911


Navajo Taco Dinner
GALLUP — Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 1110 S. Strong Dr., will have a benefit Navajo Taco dinner from 5-7 p.m. on Friday. The dinner is a fund-raiser for the church's summer youth service project. The dinners are $5 per plate or $3 for half orders and can be ordered for dine-in or take out. Information: 505-722-6444


Corvette Club meeting
KIRTLAND — The Four Corners Corvette Club will hold a meeting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the Alco Discount Store and Country Market parking lot in Kirtland, N.M. Come meet other Corvette owners and enthusiasts. Information: Ken at (928) 674-5434/ 9554 or Lou or Norman at (505) 598-9774.


After prom party
GALLUP — The Gallup High School Chapter of Students Against Destructive Decisions is sponsoring an after prom party immediately following the Gallup High School Prom until 6 a.m. Sunday, April 23 at the Roosevelt Elementary School gym. Games, music, food, and a safe, drug-free place will be provided to Gallup High School juniors and seniors. Admission is $2. Information: Ms. Yardley at (505) 721-2518
