Jack Mike
GALLUP Funeral services for Jack C. Mike, 47, will be at 10
a.m. on today, April 14 at Rollie Mortuary, Gallup. Interment will be
on family land.
Mike died April 9 in Gallup. He was born Feb. 10, 1959 in Gallup into
the Mountain Recess People Clan for the Red Running Into The Water People
Clan.
Mike was employed with J&H Supply. He enjoyed playing golf, softball,
pool and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Mike of Church Rock; daughters,
Lisa Lee of Church Rock, Destinee Mike of White Horse Lake; sisters,
Lenora Leupp of Tohlakai, Betty Mike of Continental Divide; brothers,
Alfred Mike, Benjamin Mike, Daniel Mike, Roger Mike, all of Rock Springs;
Tommy Mike of Mexican Springs; and one grandchild.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Tom C. and Emma C. Mike;
brother, Kenneth Mike; grandmother, Marie Howe.
Pallbearers will be Alfred Mike, Benjamin Mike, Daniel Mike, Roger Mike,
Tommy Mike and Christopher Pat.

Sam Wauneka, Sr.
FORT DEFIANCE Funeral services for Sam Wauneka, Sr., 95, will
be 9 a.m., today, April 14 at the Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Father
Gilbert will officiate. Burial will be on family land in Blue Canyon,
Ariz.
Wauneka died April 11 in Fort Defiance. He was born October 15, 1916
in Deer Springs, Ariz., into the Mexican People Clan for the Bitter
Water People Clan.
Wauneka worked as a carpenter, logger and miner. He enjoyed building
hogans, working around the home, and helping his family.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Wauneka; sons, Thomas Wauneka, Tommy
Wauneka and Sammy Wauneka, all of Fort Defiance; daughters, Ruthie Cole,
Annie Wauneka, both of Fort Defiance; brother, Charlie Wauneka of Blue
Canyon, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Wauneka was preceded in death by parents, Jim and Hanasba Wauneka; son,
David Wauneka; daughters, Inez Wauneka and Marie Luther.
Pallbearers will be Allen Wauneka, Burley Cole, Jr., James Luther, Jr.,
Bobby Wauneka, Arliss Kalleco and Nelson Scott
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

THOREAU Funeral services for Michael Leo Kee, Sr., 28, will
be 1 p.m. today, April 14 at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel, Gallup. Burial
will be on family land in Pinedale.
Kee died April 9 in Thoreau. He was born June 24, 1977 in Gallup into
the Two Came To The Water People Clan for the Mexican People Clan.
Survivors include his wife, Malena Bennett of Thoreau; father, Frazier
Kee, Sr. of Jones Ranch; mother, Marylena Charley of Gallup; daughter,
Alyssa Kee, Kiana Livingston, Felicia Mariano, all of Gallup; sons,
Michael Leo Kee, Jr., Isaac Livingston, both of Thoreau; brothers, Fredrick
James, Frazier Leo Kee, Jr. both of Gallup, Kevin Kee of Jones Ranch;
sisters, Marchele James, Freda Kee, Corrina Kee, all of Thoreau; grandmother,
Helen Kee of Shiprock.
Kee was preceded in by death by grandparents, Ernest and Velma Charley;
grandfather, David Kee.
Pallbearers will be Alvin Charley, Steven Charley, Fredrick James, Frazier
Leo Kee Jr., Kevin Kee and Archie Tsosie.

Ernest Baloo
TOH-LA-KAI Funeral services for Ernest W. Baloo, 59, will be
10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15 at Cope Memorial Chapel in Gallup. Tim
Tsoodle will officiate. Burial will be on family land in Toh-la-kai.
Visitation will be 4-6:30 p.m. today, April 14 at Cope Memorial Mortuary.
Baloo died April 9, 2006 in Santa Fe. He was born Sept. 14, 1946 in
Fort Defiance into the Bitter Water People Clan.
Baloo served in the U.S. Navy from April 1965 to Sept., 1968. He received
two bronze stars while serving in Vietnam. He was named as an All-American
scholar by the All-American Collegiate Scholar Award Program and received
numerous certificates from various organizations and schools. Baloo
was employed AmFac Corp. in Grand Canyon, Ariz. He was a silversmith
and took time to share his talent by teaching other students jewelry
making. Baloo was a full-time student at the American Indian Arts Institute
in Santa Fe.
Survivors include son Hyrum Baloo of Mexican Springs; brothers, John
Earl Peterson of Dilkon, Patrick Baloo of Holbrook, A.W. Baloo, Jr,
Raymond C. Baloo, Leonard Baloo, all of Holbrook; sisters, JoAnn Baloo
and Charlene Baloo.
Baloo was preceded in death by parents, Anslem Baloo and Dorothy Peterson;
grandparents, Jim and Mary Peterson; son, Buddy Baloo.
Pallbearers will be Ervin Peterson, Clayton Chischilly, Calvin Help,
Aaron Toadlena, Leonard John Watchman III, Leonard Jimmie Jr., Gordon
Toadlena, Joseph Toadlena and Ivan Watchman.

Uell Brown
GALLUP Funeral services for Uell Clifford Brown, 92, will be
at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18 at First United Methodist Church in Gallup.
Rev. Layloni Drake will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial
Park in Gallup.
Brown died April 12 in Gallup. He was born Nov. 8, 1913 in Guthrie,
Okla.
Brown was proprietor of the Donut Pantry in Gallup. He was known to
many as the "Donut King". He was employed with AT&SF Railroad
for over 39 years before he retired. After retirement, he moved to Bluewater
where he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. In
lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Manuelito Children's Home,
P.O. Box 58, Gallup, NM 87305.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Brown of Gallup; daughter, Janice
B. Bradley of Gallup; sons, David M. Brown of Gallup, Paul V. Brown
of Celina, TX; brother, Mark Porch of Belen; sister, Vivian Sinclair
of Belen; 17 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, William Henry Brown and Maude Brown;
son, Mark Brown; brother, Glenn Brown.
Pallbearers will be Jack Bradley, David Brown, Paul Brown, Michael Porch,
Phillip Porch and Stanley Porch.

Crusita Barger
BELEN Funeral Mass and memorial service for Crusita Chavez Barger,
74, will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 17 at St. Francis Church in Gallup.
Burial will be in Gallup.
Barger was born May 3, 1931 in Gallup.
Barger was a well-known waitress in Gallup in the 50's and 60's. She
was employed at the Manhatten Cafe, White Cafe, M&M Cafe and Paramount
Cafe. She and her husband owned and operated the La Burrito Cafe in
Belen in the 1990's. She loved people and friends.Survivors include
her husband, Eddie Barger of Belen; sons, Ben Barela and Joseph Ramirez,
both of Long Beach, Calif., Beto Ramirez of San Diego, Calif., George
D. Ramirez of Gamerco, Eddie Barger, Jr., John Barger, both of Belen;
17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Barger was preceded in death by her father, Tony Chavez; mother, Clara
Ross; brothers, John Chavez, Demetrio Chavez; sisters, Theresa Fish,
Mary Garcia and Isabel Chavez; one grandchild.
Jonathan McCabe
WINDOW ROCK Funeral services for Jonathan H. McCabe, 40, will
be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15 at the Good Shepherd Mission Episcopal
in Fort Defiance. Rev. Jim Leehan will officiate. Burial will be in
Kinlichee Cemetery in Kinlichee, Ariz.
McCabe died April 12 in Window Rock. He was born April 12, 1966 in Fort
Defiance into the Black Streak of Forest People Clan for the One Who
Walks Around People Clan.
McCabe was a 1984 graduate of Window Rock High School. He was member
of the wrestling and track teams. He was a seasonal firefighter and
construction worker. He enjoyed music, weight lifting, horse shoes,
playing basketball with his children and helping his parents and family.Survivors
include his wife, Andrea McCabe; sons, Paul McCabe, Harlan Naha, John-Michael
McCabe; daughter, Mariah McCabe; parents, Johnnie H. McCabe and Pearl
B. McCabe, Sr.; brothers, Matthew McCabe, Johnnie H. McCabe, Jr.; sisters,
Darlene Perry, Jennifer McCabe and Janet McCabe.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Kinlichee Chapter
House after the burial services.
