Swim Break: Students from several Gallup schools enjoy a swim at the
Harold Runnels Swimming Complex on Monday afternoon as part of their spring
break. The complex is offering open swimming from 1-3 p.m. and 3:30-5:30

Skipping School: Twin Lakes Elementary
School fifth grader Danielle Nelson jumps rope in the school's gym
while second grader Andrew Brown looks on. Brown set the overall school
record for continuos jumps recently with 1,935. Nelson holds the girls'
record with 218 jumps in a row. Teacher Bob Humphrey started the students
jumping rope about a year ago and said every morning when he arrives
there are generally 30 to 40 kids waiting for ropes. Humphrey said
the students jump rope several times a day and that 40 out of the
172 students at the school have logged sessions of 100 jumps in a
