Paula Goforth
NAVAJO ESTATES Funeral services for Paula Tatsukawa Goforth,
54, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 at the New Life Apostolic
Church, 200 Canyon de Chelly, Gallup. Pastors Jerry Eastridge, Wesley
Eastridge, Bruce Footracer, Jose Lovato and Andy Hall will officiate.
Burial will then follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Goforth died Sept. 27 in Navajo Estates. She was born June 4, 1951 in
Gallup.
Goforth was an active member of the United Pentecostal Indian Church
dedicated to working with the children and youth.
Survivors include her husband, D. Wayne Goforth of Navajo Estates; mother,
May Tatsukawa of Gallup; children, Mike Goforth of Poolvile, Texas,
Todd Goforth of Azle, Texas, Lucinda Hall of King Salmon, Alaska, Kimberly
Corl of Las Cruces; brother, Robert Tatsukawa of Gallup and 13 grandchildren.
Goforth was preceded in death by her father, Mike Tatsukawa.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Duke, Bill Clark, Eddie Kirk, George Athens,
Norman Nomoto, Irvin Nez and Norman John.

Lena Sam
STEAMBOAT Funeral services for Lena B. Sam, 95, were at 10 a.m.
on Thursday, Sept. 29 at All Saints Catholic Hall. Father Flann O'Neil
officiated. Burial followed on family land in Steamboat.
Sam died Sept. 24 in Ganado. She was born May 15, 1913 in Nazlini into
the Black Streak People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.
Sam enjoyed rug weaving and horseback riding.
Survivors include her daughters, Irene Todachine, Louise Jones, Iris
Nelson, Clara Toledo, Alyce Sam all of Steamboat; brothers, Abe Begay
of Nazlini; sister, Zonnie Tsinaninnie; 42 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by her husband, John Sam; daughter, Alice
Bitsuie; mother, Bah Tsinaginnie; father, No Hat Begay.
The family received relatives and friends at Alyce Sam's residence.

Grace Uyeda
GALLUP Graveside services for Grace T. Uyeda, 98, will be at
1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 at Sunset Memorial Park.
Uyeda died Sept. 25 in Albuquerque. She was born July 4, 1907 in Honolulu,
Hi.
Survivors include her daughter, June Kauzlarich; son, Glen Uyeda of
Canoga Park, Calif; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and
one great-great-grandchild.
Uyeda was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Uyeda.

Betty Begay
MANY FARMS Funeral services for Betty Allen Begay, 72, will
be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 at Many Farms Full Gospel Church.
Evangelist Joe Tsosie will officiate. Burial will follow on a family
plot in Many Farms.
Begay died Sept. 25 in Phoenix. She was born March 3, 1933 in Many Farms
into the One Who Walks Around People Clan.
Survivors inlcude her husband, Kee Allen Begay, Sr.; sons, Thomas Begay,
Raymond Begay, Henry Begay, Kee Allen Begay, Jr., Terry Begay, Randall
Begay all of Many Farms; daughters, Mae Bia of Phoenix, Darlene Clah,
Charlene Begaye, Vangie Begay all of Many Farms; mother, Bessie Ben;
brothers, John Ben of Many Farms, Joe John, Abraham John, Freddy John
all of Luepp; sisters, Nancy Tsosie of Many Farms, Bessie Cody of Cove,
Ariz.
Pallbearers will be Terry Begay, Terrell Begay, Darren Begay, Darrick
Begay, Joe Tsosie and Harry Bia.

Regina Begay
NASCHITTI Services for Regina Jane Begay, 47, will be at the
Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints Chapel in Sheep Springs.
Burial will follow at the Naschitti Community Cemetery.
Begay died Sept. 26 in Naschitti. She was born April 2, 1958 into the
Near The Water People Clan for the Water's Edge People Clan.
Begay graduated from Salt Lake City High School in May, 1977. She attended
Brigham Young University and earned an Associates degree in Early childhood
development from UNM-Gallup. She worked as an assistant Special Education
teacher.
Survivors include her sons, Easton R. Holyan, Weston R. Holyan; foster
parents, Alma and Lou Erickson of Salt Lake City, Utah; brothers, Toledo
R. Begay, Franklin Begay, Christopher Begay, Ross Begay, Jr., John R.
Begay, Richard M. Begay, Robert M. Begay, Daryl R. Begay; sisters, Theresa
Kedelty, Shar Lynne Louis, Betty M. Roanhorse, Patricia D. Begay, Sharon
A. Holyan and Rose M. Moore.
Begay was prececeded in death by her father, Ross Begay, Sr.; mother,
Rachel D. Begay Wilson; sisters, Rebecca Begay and Deanna Begay.
Pallbearers will be Ross Begay, Jr., Richard M. Begay, Jared Roanhorse,
Mike S. Begay, Lavasto Julian and John R. Begay.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Naschitti Chapter
House.

RED ROCK Funeral services for Chee C. Jim, 64, will be at 11
a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 at Cope Memorial.
Jim died Sept. 25 in Gallup. He was born June 10, 1941 in Breadsprings
into the Salt Water People Clan for the Red Streak Running into Water
People Clan.
Survivors include his wife, Fannie Jim of Red Rock; daughters, Katherine
Jim, Laverne Jim both of Red Rock, Caroline Jim of Albuquerque; mother,
Barbara C. Jim of Breadsprings; brothers, Jack C. Jim of Breadsprings,
Lee C. Jim of Crownpoint, Richard C. Jim of Los Lunas; sisters, Rose
Libby of Fresno, Calif., Louise Cowboy of Laguna, Julia Begaye of Thoreau;
and five grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Sam Jim; brother, Willie Jim
and sister, Alice Ortiz.
Pallbearers will be Richard Jim, Bradley Jim, Byron Jim, Milroy Vandever
and Varian Manning.

GALLUP Rosary and Funeral Mass for Aurelia Castillo Sanchez,
63, will be at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial
will follow at Gallup City Cemetery.
Sanchez died Sept. 27 in Gallup. She was born April 28, 1942 in Juarez,
Mexico.
Survivors include her children, Maria Sherman, Marcos Antonio Sanchez,
Oswaldo Ivan Sanchez and Daniel Mendez, all of Gallup, Luis Alejandro
Sanchez of Juarez, Mexico; mother, Urbana Castillo Sanchez of Mexico;
sisters, Elva Guerrola of Juarez, Anna Maria Guerrola of El Paso, Texas
and Maria La Trisia Melendez of Provo, Utah; brother, Augustine Sanchez
of Juarez; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Sanchez; brothers, Juan
Sanchez and Armando Sanchez.
Pallbearers will be Alejandro Sanchez, Marcos Sanchez, Daniel Mendez,
Ivan Sanchez, John Sherman and Maria Sherman.
