Marie Pete
RED ROCK Funeral services for Marie Pete, 38, will be at 10
a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Sister Terry Good
will officiate. Burial will be in the Gallup City Cemetery.
Pete died Sept. 22 in Phoenix. She was born Oct. 4, 1966 in Gallup into
the Towering House People Clan for the Black Streak People Clan.
Pete attended school in Fort Wingate. She was a homemaker and silversmith.
She enjoyed listening to music, cooking, and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her son, Brandon Joe of Phoenix; daughters, Eugena
Joe of Phoenix, Marina R. McCabe, Shannon M. McCabe, both of Red Rock;
mother, Molly Pete of Red Rock; brothers, James Pete of Pinehaven, Francis
Pete of Pinedale, Emerson Pete of Gallup, Glenson Pete, Sr., Leonard
Wilson both of Red Rock; sisters, Esther Kinsel of Tohatchi, Betty Bitsie
of Gallup, Denise Wilson of Red Rock; grandparents, Honest Jack, Le'onii
Bahe Jack both of Red Rock.
Pete was preceded in death by her father, Hoskie Pete and brother, Alfred
Pete.
Pallbearers will be Francis Pete, Glenson Pete, Sr., Leonard Wilson,
Jameson Pete, Leon Bitsie, and Ivan Yazzie.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Herman Dale
GREASEWOOD Funeral services for Herman Dale, 69, will be at
10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Greasewood Catholic Church. Fr.
Flann O'Neil will officiate. Burial will be in the Greasewood community
cemetery.
Dale died Sept. 24 in Phoenix. He was born March 14, 1936 in Greasewood
Springs into the Tangle People Clan for the Red House People Clan.
Dale attended Fort Defiance and Inter-Mountain Indian schools. He was
a certified welder, high pressure steam pipe mechanic, and worked primarily
in facilities management. Dale retired from the BIA following 24 years
of service. He was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Dale; sons, Justin Dale, Edison Dale,
Vincent Dale, Hubert Dale; daughters, Sophena Dale, Sophelia Dale, Geraldine
Begay; brothers, Harry Kirk, Elmer Begay, Johnson Begay, Calvin Begay,
Sylvester Begay, Clarmie Begay Jr.; sister, Victoria Bitah; and 19 grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Ludger Dale and Josephine
Kirk; sister, Alice White.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Daniel Noriega
ALBUQUERQUE Funeral Mass for Daniel Nazario Noriega, 25, will
be at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic
Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. Father Frank Prieto will officiate.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 at St. Teresa's
Catholic Church, 400 E. High St., Grants.
Noreiga died Sept. 24 in Albuquerque. He was born Feb. 4, 1980 in Albuquerque.
Noreiga graduated from Grants High School in 1988 with honors. He attended
UNM for two years and transferred to TVI. He enjoyed barbecuing, the
outdoors, being a father and being with family.
Survivors include his mother, Dolores Vallejos of Grants; father, Nazario
Noriega of Gallup; sister, Jessica Noriega of Albuquerque; half-brother,
A.J. Noriega of Gallup; grandparents, Charlet and Augustine Olguin of
Grants.
Kee Thompson
MANUELITO Graveside services for Kee Thompson, 87, will be
at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 on family land in Manuelito.
Thompson died Sept. 25 in Gallup. He was born July 19, 1918 in Fort
Defiance. He was a sheepherder.
Survivors include Ray Benally of Manuelito.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Paula Goforth
NAVAJO ESTATES Funeral services are pending for Paula Goforth,
54.
Goforth died Sept. 27 in Navajo Estates. She was born June 4, 1951 in
Gallup.

Julia Montoya
GALLUP Funeral services for Julia Montoya, 82, are pending and

Montoya died Sept. 27 in Gallup. She was born Feb. 25, 1923 in Anton
Chico, Colo.

Jimmy Rangel
GALLUP Funeral services for Jimmy Rangel, 53, are pending and
will be announced at a later date.
Rangel died Sept. 27 in Gallup. He was born March 29, 1952 in Gallup.

Aurelia Sanchez
GALLUP Funeral services for Aurelia Sanchez, 63, are pending
and will be announced at a later date.
Sanchez died Sept. 27 in Gallup. She was born April 28, 1942 in Juarez,
Mexico.
