Hubert Richards
ZUNI Traditional wake services for Hubert Douglas "Redskin"
Richards, 95, were at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 13A Lesarlley Rd.,
Zuni. Burial will be in Paraje, N.M.
Richards died Sept. 9 in Zuni. He was born Oct. 1, 1905 into the Bear
Clan, Child of the Corn Clan for the Paraje People.
Richards worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and Lewis Brother's Plumbing,
where he eventuly retired. He enjoyed singing to his grandchildren and
being with family.
Survivors include his son, George Richards; daughter, Doris Nequetewa;
11 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren.
Richards was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Richards; daughters,
Constance Nequetewa and one grandchild.
