Frank Montano Jr.
FENCE LAKE Graveside services for Frank L. Montano Jr., 71,
will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at the Montano Ranch, Fence
Lake.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5 at Rollie Mortuary
Palm Chapel.
Montano died Sept. 1 in Albuquerque. He was born May 11, 1934 in Atarque,
N.M.
Montano was a self employed contractor and cattle rancher. He enjoyed
hunting, rodeos, wildlife and being with family.
Survivors include his father, Frank P. Montano; daughter, Sandra McDaniel
of Gallup; sons, Frankie Montano of Thoreau, Jeff Montano of Gallup;
sisters, Tillie Chavez of Quemado, Della DeArmond of Gallup; brothers,
C.L. Montano of Fence Lake, Louis Montano of Gallup; 8 grandchildren
and 1 great-grandchild.
Montano Jr. was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Montano and
mother, Santanita Montano.
Pallbearers will be Dillon McDaniel, Sierra McDaniel, Jaime Montano,
Jared Montano, Kolby Montano, Roger Montano, Shelby Montano and Trace
Montano.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Marquerite Robertson
BLUEWATER Memorial services for Marguerite "Marge"
Robertson, 84, will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at the First
Baptist Church, Thoreau. Pastor Brittain will officiate.
Robertson died Aug. 30. She was born Oct. 15, 1920.
Robertson received her Bachelors in education from Pacific University,
Calif. and her Masters from the University of Oregon. She developed
educational centers in remote communities of Alaska. Robertson served
as an Educational Guidance Counselor at the Stuttgart Base in Germany.
She served in the Women's Army Corp during WWII. In 1987 she and her
husband retired in Bluewater and there she was involved with the Thoreau
Senior Citizen's Center as president.
Survivors inlcude her children, Candy Jean, Randy, Jeffery; 8 grandchildren
and 3 great-grandchildren.
Family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Salvation
Army, 'disaster relief,' 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
Donna Arviso
MARIANO LAKE Services for Donna Arviso, 84, will be at 10 a.m.
on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at the Pinedale Mehodist Church. Pastor Jones Dehiyah
will officate. Burial will follow on family land in Mariano Lake.
Arviso died Sept. 1 in Albuquerque. She was born Dec. 20, 1920 in Mariano
Lake into the Towering House People Clan for the Water Flows Together
People Clan.
Arviso was a rug weaver all her life. She was also a rancher and an
active member of the Mariano Lake Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her sons, Dean Arviso, Dan Arviso, Eddie Arviso, all
of Mariano Lake; daughters, April Martin, Emma Daswood and Louise Arviso,
all of Pinedale, and Alice Degroat of Mariano Lake; brothers, Sam Grey
Jr., Joe Lee Grey, both of Mariano Lake, and Charley Grey of Church
Rock; sisters, Mabel G. Davis of Page, Ariz., Betty Lee of Pinedale,
Jenny Grey of Mariano Lake and Janice Grey of Yah Ta Hey; 28 grandchldren
and 33 great-grandchildren.
Arviso was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Arviso; parents,
Sam Grey Tallboy and Mary Grey; brother, Joe Grey; sister, Irene Etcitty
and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dan Arviso, Dean Arviso, Michael Begay and Ronald
Begay.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Mariano Lake Chapter
House after services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond Becenti Sr.
FORT DEFIANCE Services for Raymond Joe Becenti Sr., 59, will
be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament
Church, Fort Defiance. Fr. Meldon Hickey, OFM, will officiate. Burial
will follow on the family plot in Fort Defiance.
Visitation will be held at the church one hour before services.
Becenti died Sept. 1 in Fort Defiance. He was born Sept. 19, 1945 in
Ganado into the Honey Combed Rock People Clan for the Black Streak of
the Forest People Clan.
Becenti graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1966 and the National
Career Institute in Oakland, Calif., for electronic technology. He was
an accountant for the Navajo Nation and the Window Rock Unified School
District, and retired in 1998. He enjoyed playing basketball and refereeing
for the Arizona Interscholastic Association games.
Survivors include his sons, Raymond Becenti Jr., Ryland Becenti, Reyes
Becenti and Ryan Becenti; daughter, Ryneldi Becenti; parents, Richard
and Thelma Kee; brothers, Samuel Joe, Ernest Joe, Peter Lincoln, Paul
Lincoln, Alton Kee and Monico Kee; sisters, Laverne Joe and Carmelita
Joe, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Becenti; father, Sam Joe
Becenti Sr., grandparents, Pete and Ebah Roanhorse and Hosten Nez Joe
Becenti and Lilly Becenti,
Pallbearers will be Ryan Becenti, Brian Joe, Alton Kee, Freddie Roanhorse,
Wilford Francisco and Toby Becenti.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Becenti residence
in Fort Defiance following services.

Robert Martinez
GALLUP Funeral services for Robert Gene Martinez, 44, are pending
and will be announced at a later date.
Martinez died Aug. 31 in Gallup. He was born April 26, 1961 in Gallup.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
