Leo Martinez
PREWITT Funeral services for Leo Martinez, 77, will be at 10
a.m. on Friday, Oct. 21 at Compassion Mortuary Chapel. Mark Thomas,
Edward King, Sammie Begay will all officiate. Burial will follow in
Grants Memorial Park.
Martinez died Oct. 16 in Prewitt. He was born Feb. 15, 1928 in Bluewater
Village into the Sleeping Rock People Clan for the Salt People Clan.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Smith Martinez of Prewitt; mother,
Flora H. Martinez of Prewitt; children, Herman Martinez of Spokane,
Wa., Mark Martinez of Crownpoint, Calvin Martinez of Bread Springs,
Bea Martinez of Albuquerque, Laverne Martinez of Prewitt, Rick Martinez
of Gallup, Terry Martinez of Ganado, Readda Begay of Bread Springs,
Leon Martinez of Grants, Yvonne Martinez of Prewitt, Karyn Charley of
Bread Springs, Sharon Faulhaber of Denver, Colo.; sisters, Nora Montano
of San Mateo, Mae Lynch of Thoreau, Flora Dimentriou of Prewitt; brothers,
Juan Martinez of San Mateo, Martin Martinez of Haystack, Clarence Martinez
of Smith Lake, Johnny Martinez of Casamero Lake; 34 grandchildren and
11 great-grandchildren.
Martinez was preceded in death by his father, Patricio "Patty"
Martinez; brothers, Julian Martinez, Roy Martinez, Sr., Henry Martinez,
Gothro Martinez, Raymond Martinez, Ervin Becenti, Huskie Martinez; sisters,
Mary Platero, Ethel Charimya, Nina Largo, Mary bah Arviso and Juanita
Martinez.
Pallbearers will be Herman Martinez, Mark Martinez, Calvin Martinez,
Rick Martinez, Terry Martinez and Leon Martinez.

Herbert C. Delgarito Sr.
PREWITT Funeral services for Herbert Curley Delgarito, Sr.,
47, will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 21 at the First Assembly of God,
Prewitt. Lonnie Mariano will officiate. Burial will follow in the Thoreau
community cemetery.
Delgarito, Sr. died Oct. 17 in Albuquerque. He was born Feb. 27, 1958
in Crownpoint into the Start of the Red Streak People Clan for the Towering
House People Clan.
Delgarito, Sr. attended Crownpoint Boarding School. He did road construction
in Texas and was a self-employed arts and crafts maker. He enjoyed fishing,
horses, hiking, listening to music and playing with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Harlinda Delgarito; sons, Hubert Delgarito,
Philbert Delgarito, Herbert Delgarito, Jr. all of Prewitt, Calvin Jim
of Rio Rancho, Russell Jim of Thoreau; daughters, Lucinda Delgarito
of Prewitt, Carlinda Jim of Mariano Lake; brothers, Nelson Delgarito,
Kirby Delgarito both of Smith Lake; sisters, Bessie Henio of Smith Lake,
Annie Rose Shortman of Tonalea; and 15 grandchildren.
Delgarito was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Sandoval Delgarito;
father, Jim Curley Delgarito; daughters, Shelly Mae Delgarito, Shelly
Ann Delgarito; maternal grandparents, Emma Yazzie and Mike Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Jim, Russell Jim, Hubert Delgarito, Philbert
Delgarito, Herbert Delgarito, Jr. and Lawrence Delgarito.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Thoreau Chapter
House.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Stephanie Jean Ahasteen
GALLUP Funeral services for Stephanie Jean Ahasteen, 20, are
pending and will be announced at a later date.
Ahasteen died Oct. 18 in Gallup. She was born May 8, 1985 in Gallup
into the Mexican People Clan for the Over Hanging Rock People Clan.
A donation meeting will be held this evening, Oct. 20, at the Native
Bible Fellowship Church, 405 W. Morgan at 6 p.m.

James Butkovich
GALLUP Funeral services for James Butkovich, 74, are pending
and will be announced at a later date.
Butkovich died Oct. 18 in Gallup. He was born Jan. 12, 1931 in Gallup.

Nola Mae Ochenrider
GALLUP Funeral services are pending for Nola Mae Ochenrider,
102.
Ochenrider died Oct. 19 in Gallup. She was born Dec. 15, 1902.

Ronnie P. Rodarte
GRANTS Funeral services for Ronnie Phillip Rodarte, 44, are
pending and will be announced at a later date.
Rodarte died Oct. 19 in Grants. He was born Dec. 28, 1960 in Grants.
