Mabel R. Grass
SHONTO Funeral services for Mabel R. Grass, 92, were 10 a.m.
today, Oct. 17 at the White Post Convenant Church. Pastor Tony Bruant
officiated. Burial followed on a family plot in Shonto.
Grass died Oct. 13 in Shonto. She was born March 29, 1913, in Shonto
into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Zuni Edgewater People Clan.
Grass worked at the Shonto Boarding School as head cook and retired
in 1979 following 30 years of service.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Sue Grass-Whiteman of Seling,
Okla.; sister, Thelma Grass of Shonto; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Grass was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Grass; daughter, Ann
Grass-Davis; and son, Keith Grass.
Pallbearers were Rick Hudgins, Melvin Hudgins, Gary Hudgins, Keith Grass,
Jr., Amos Grass, Jr. and Anthony Grass.

CONTINENTAL DIVIDE Funeral services for Herman S. Jim Sr., 51,
are pending and will be announced at a later date.
Jim Sr. died Oct. 14 in Gallup.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
