Alejandro Ramirez
GRANTS Funeral Mass for Alejandro Ramirez, 94, will be at 10
a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial
will follow in Grants Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today, Oct. 14 from noon to 6 p.m. at Compassion
Mortuary.
A rosary will be recited this evening, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. at Compassion
Mortuary Chapel.
Ramirez died Oct. 12 in Grants. He was born Nov. 27, 1910 in Seboyeta,
N.M.
Survivors include his children, Cora Marez, Melesandro Ramirez, Patronila
Marez all of San Rafael, Pete Ramirez of Grants; 14 grandchildren, 36
great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Ramirez was preceded in death by his wife, Rafaelita Jaramillo Ramirez;
parents, Nicholas and Beatrice Ramirez; sons, Walter Ramirez, James
Ramirez; daughters, Merenciana Ramirez; brothers, Tiadoro Ramirez, Frank
Ramirez, Adn Ramirez; sister, Tomasita Ramirez; three grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Mariano Marez, Jr., Henry Molina, James Mirabal,
Sr., James Mirabal, Jr., Pete Ramirez and Melesandro Ramirez.

Amos Johnson
RED ROCK Funeral services for Amos Johnson, 43, will be at
10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Rev. Gardner
will officiate. Burial will follow on a family plot in Red Rock.
Johnson died Oct. 11 in Vanderwagen. He was born March 5, 1962 in Blackrock
into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Towering House
People Clan.
Johnson attended Red Rock Elementary, and Ramah High School. He was
employed with Allen George Enterprise as a carpet layer. He enjoyed
fishing, cooking out, hiking and he enjoyed being with family.
Survivors include his wife, Verna Booqua-Johnson of Zuni; mother, Ida
Marie Johnson of Red Rock; brothers, Ernest Johnson of Albuquerque,
Jimmie Johnson, Jr., Isaac Johnson both of Red Rock; sisters, Juanita
Lee, Loretta Bitah, Marita Mae Johnson all of Red Rock.
Johnson was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Johnson Sr.
Pallbearers will be Dale Booqua, Stanford Chuyate, Ivan B. Yazzie, Ronnie
Randolph, Ronald Randolph and Holyan Escobar.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Johnson's family
residence.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
