Shorty Largo
IYANBITO Funeral services for Shorty Largo, 65, will be at 10
a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Mark Thomas will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Gallup City Cemetery.
Largo was born May 5, 1940 in Prewitt into the Salt People Clan for
the Two Came to Water People Clan.
Largo attened Intermountain Indian School. He worked in Phoenix, Iyanbito
Chapter House and was a farmer. Largo enjoyed playing bingo, watching
T.V. and the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Largo; sons, Augustine Largo, Alex
Largo, Ernest Largo all of Iyanbito; daughters, Rubie Morgan of Fort
Wingate, Kathleen Largo, Kathy Mariano, Karen Largo all of Iyanbito;
brother, Les Largo of Prewitt; sisters, Irene Howard, Laverne Smith
both of Prewitt; 32 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Largo was preceded in death by his parents, John Laco and Mary Laco;
and daughter, Delphy Largo.
Pallbearers will be Alfred Martinez, Travis Smith, Roderick Smith, Nelson
Scott, Dalton Smith and Tyrone Begay.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gospel Lighthouse
Church.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Sarah Y. Patterson
GAMERCO Funeral mass for Sarah Y. Patterson, 69, will be at
11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Sacred Heart Cathedral Church. Father
Don will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gallup City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4 between 8-10:30 a.m. at Rollie
Mortuary Palm Chapel.
Patterson died Sept. 28 in Gallup. She was born June 12, 1936 in Rehoboth
into the Black Charcoal Streak into the Red Running Water People Clan
for the Bitter Water People Clan.
Survivors include her sons, Andy Patterson, Olson Patterson both of
Gallup, Gerald Patterson, Patrick Patterson both of China Springs; daughters,
Sylvia Kee of Gallup, Laura Patterson of China Springs, Linda Patterson
of Fort Defiance, Brenda Patterson of Fort Wingate; 27 grandchildren
and 1 great-grandchild.
Patterson was preceded in death by her husband, Wilsie Y. Patterson;
father, Hosteen Yazzie Tsoi; and mother, Emma Yazzie.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Kee, Nathan Kilgore, Jr., Jan-Mikael Patterson,
Patrick Patterson, Lavar Peterson and Todd Peterson.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

MILAN Funeral services for Aaron Barron, 43, are pending and
will be announced at a later date.
Barron died Oct. 2 Albuquerque.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Sylvia Madrid
GRANTS Funeral services for Sylvia M. Madrid, 63, are pending
and will be announced at a later date.
Madrid died Oct. 1 in Grants.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Eddie Pouges
GRANTS Funeral services for Eddie Pouges of Grants are pending
and will be announced at a later date.
Pouges died Oct. 1 in Milan.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Josephine Schmaltz
GALLUP A rosary will be recited this evening, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
at Rollie Mortuary for Josephine Schmaltz, 84.
Schmaltz was born March 18, 1921. She died Sept. 28 in Albuquerque.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
