Adrian Begay
CHURCHROCK Funeral services for Adrian Roy Begay, 17, will be
at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 19 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Mr. and Mrs. Kee
Keyanna will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gallup City Cemetery.
Begay died May 13 in Church Rock. He was born July 17, 1987 in Gallup
into the Bitterwater People Clan for the Coyote Pass/Jemez People Clan.
Begay was a senior at Gallup High School and was an employee at Pronto
Laundromat. He enjoyed playing his Playstation, computers, soccer, basketball,
watching wrestling and listening to music.
Survivors include his mother, Etta Begay of Churchrock; sister, Samantha
Begay of Churchrock; grandparents, Elizabeth Begay of Churchrock, Betty
Franklin of Lukachukai and Chester Franklin of Window Rock.
Begay was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Roy Begay.
Pallbearers will be Anderson Chischilly, Antonio Chischilly, Gary Yazzie,
Jonah Begay, Travis Silver, Danny Poorbear and Nathaniel Tsosie.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Churchrock Chapter.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Alfred Thompson III
DEL MUERTO Funeral services for Alfred "Don Don" Thompson
III, 20, were at 10 a.m. this morning, May 18 at Our Lady Fatima Catholic
Church. Father Blain Griene officiated. Burial followed on family land
in Del Muerto.
Visitation was held one hour prior to services. A rosary was recited
on May 17 at 7 p.m.
Thompson died May 12 in Chinle. He was born Feb. 13, 1985 in Chinle
into the Salt People Clan for the Bitterwater People Clan.
Thompson worked for Arizona Allied Forces in Mesa. He was an apprentice
with the Arizona laborors union.He enjoyed rapping, song writing, break
dancing, camping, fishing, swimming and spending time with family and
friends.
Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Yazzie of Mesa; father, Alfred
Thompson Jr. of Round Rock; brother, Adrian Tompson; sisters, Angel
Thompson of Las Vegas, Andrina Yazzie of Mesa; maternal grandmother,
Pauline Yazzie; paternal grandparents, Alfred and Elizabeth Thompson
Sr.
Thompson was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bennie Chee Yazzie.
Pallbearers will be Adrian Thompson, Elijah Draper, Travis Lee, Alfred
Thompson Jr., Alexandrick Teller and Randy Tso.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Our Lady of Fatima
Catholic Hall.

Rev. William Irving Jr.
CEDAR CREST Funeral services for Rev. William M. Irving Jr.,
87, will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 at the Faith Bible Church,
Albuquerque. Dr. David Broersma will officiate. Burial will follow in
Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque.
Irving died May 13in Cedar Crest. He was born Sept. 13, 1917 in Philadelphia,
Pa.
Irving Jr. attended Wheaton College. He did missionary work on the Navajo
Reservation from 1947 to 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Irving of Cedar Crest; sons, Daniel
S. Irving of Eagle River, David E. Irving of Mentmore, Mark W. Irving
of Montrose, Colo.; daughters, Miriam I Murphy of Pa., Martha I. Thomas
of Cedar Crest; sister, Jane Elwell of N.J.; 12 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Casey Irving, Jeff Irving, Mark Irving, Matt Murphy,
Micah Murphy and Aaron Thomas.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Fath Bible Church.
Rev. Walter W. Snyder
HONEYGROVE, Texas Rev. Walter W. Snyder, 74, died in Honeygrove,
Texas on May 14. He was born in Kansas City on July 10, 1930.
Rev. Snyder began and ended his ministry at St. James Lutheran Church.
He went tothe Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and received a Doctor's
Degree of Theology from Concordia Seminary in May 1983. Rev. Snyder
served parishes in Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Missouri and Michigan
during a ministry lasting over 40 years. He went on to do volunteer
missionary work in the former Soviet republic of Kazakhstan.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Snyder; children, Walter, Paul both
of Mo., Timothy of Farmington, Stephen of Texas, Carla Marie Byars of
Prescott, Ariz.; sister, Marguerite Krenning of St. Louis, Mo.; stepdaughters,
Jeannie Mowrer of Gallup, Susan Lundberg of Flagstaff; former wife,
Melba of Prescott; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
LaVerne Yonnie
SHIPROCK Services for LaVerne Mae Yonnie, 42, were at 10 a.m.,
today, May 18 at the Kirtland Stake Center of the LDS Church in Kirtland.
Burial will be at Kirtland Cemetery and a reception will follow at the
Kirtland Stake Center.
Yonnie died May 13 in Shiprock. She was born Feb. 26, 1963 in Black
House Valley into the Towering House People Clan for the One Who Walks
Around People Clan..
She graduated from Shiprock Alternative High School in 1982 and was
a licensed cosmetologist. Her hobbies included sandpainting , sewing,
gardening and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband, Hoskie Yonnie, Jr.; children Michael
Yonnie of Shiprock and Marchael and Yosha Verna Moe Yonnie, both of
Waterflow; parents, John and Christine Allen of Sheepsprings; brothers,
Johnnie Allen of Shiprock, Rex Allen of Tohatchi, Robert Allen of Waterflow,
Jackie Allen of Black House Valley, Alvin Allen of Sheepsprings and
Jonathan Allen of Mesa, Ariz., one cousin sister, Gloria Carl Edsitty
of Sheepsprings.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Victoria Kaibetoney; brother,
Alfred Allen; grandparents, Little Joe and Mary Joe and John and Elizabeth
Belone.
Pallbearers were Michael Yonnie, Marchael Yonnie, Jovanni Allen, Christopher
Allen, Marshall Allen and Charles Allen.
SSgt. Jeffery S. Palmer
GRANTS Services for SSgt. Jeffery S. Palmer, 52 of Grants are
pending.
Ssgt. Palmer died May 15 in Cibola. He was born May 5, 1953 in Wichita,
Kan.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
