Armored truck clips van

By Tom Purdom
Staff Writer

PREWITT — A Brinks armored truck loaded with cash hit a van carrying a Pennsylvania couple Tuesday at 11:11 a.m. at Mile Marker 60 on Interstate 40.

The money did not spill out of the armored truck.

Sgt. Rick Doty, with the Milan substation of the District Six New Mexico State Police said the couple, in a 1995 Ford Windstar Van, was driving west on the interstate. The Brinks truck was also headed west.

The Brinks truck came up in back of the couple. The driver of the armored vehicle apparently decided the van was going too slow and pulled out to pass the couple.

"When the driver pulled back he clipped the van," Doty said.

No one was injured in the accident.

Doty said the driver of the Brinks truck was cited.
